Hello Friends, I'm currently in Cape Town, South Africa and will be traveling to Pretoria, Johannesburg and Durban for several meetings. This past Saturday a special friend of mine, Kelley Varner, whom I respect and admire, passed on unexpectedly. He impacted the body of Christ globally as a New Testament scribe by his message and writings. His contribution to our lives will not be forgotten. Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time. In the last newsletter, our featured guest was Elizabeth Braswell and her article on "Living on Less and Loving It" received lots of positive feedback. I asked her to write another article which I believe is a resource to our readers. I have grown to appreciate Elizabeth and her insight regarding this present season. Elizabeth Braswell is the President of Ebraswell & Company, an organization designed to empower, equip, and engage entrepreneurs. She has built several businesses including real estate, an international relocation company, and most recently, a large direct sales organization responsible for distributing over $2 million per year. She reached the top 2% of the company within 16 months. As a wife, mother, and business owner, Elizabeth brings a unique perspective to the issues that home-based businesses and entrepreneurs are facing in today's economic environment. She also carries a powerful prophetic message and burden for people to recognize the bigness that is inside of them and to see their God sized dreams unlocked and ignited.Eugene Strite President Sent Forth Ministries

Nets Work
by Elizabeth Braswell

"Nets work". I heard it as clear as day. It was something I had known and understood for years, but in that moment from the Lord, I realized just how important...no, not important, but critical and foundational our relationships and our networks are going to be in the days ahead both personally and professionally.
The word came while I was in the midst of a three day leader's summit. The question of why I was even there had already surfaced in my mind. There were people who knew more, were better connected, better equipped, and better trained then me. I realized that I was there because of the people that I knew, those that I had come along to assist and serve. The Lord is constructing a net and I am to be a part of the fiber of the bigger picture. We are all called to be a part of that net.
On a personal level, the fiber of our nets will be built with those people that we invest in and those that invest in us. It's the people that we love and serve. We are called to bear one another's burdens. We are called to esteem other's more than we do ourselves. We are called to look out for the interests of others. I think it's fair to say that people matter most to God. He uses our friendships to encourage us and to assist us in times of need and adversity. We need to tighten the net. We need to make sure we value people first and foremost and become purposeful and intentional about making relationships a high priority in our lives.
On the business front, it is known that people do business with those they know, like, and trust. This is foundational, yet most often overlooked. We tend to look more at the bottom line, at the quick fix, and what new system can be implemented to make a quick change. The process of building solid relationships can take longer, but the payoff is well worth it. Look at your clients and start asking them questions. Do you really know why they buy your product or service? Do you really know what their core values are? Are there ways you can make them feel more and more appreciated? Remember their birthdays? Send more notes just because, instead of sending out your latest sales incentive. As markets tighten and the competition gets stiffer, the people who will chose you and your company over the others are the ones you have added value to, the ones who know you on a personal level, the ones who trust you because they know you care. Beef up your relationship marketing program. I heard a wise old man once say that friends equal funds. Go out there and make some new friends. Invest some time with the old ones, and have fun doing it!! Your bottom line WILL increase.
Yes, nets work. Nets keep things in and keep things out. They catch us when we fall. Nets do not let things fall between the cracks. They create a holding place for plenty. The bigger the net, the more ground it will cover. Today is the day to begin to build and pour into the only thing that will truly matter in the days ahead...on all levels. Love those around you and serve everyone you can. It works! |

The Creative Edge

Zech 1:16-17, "Therefore thus says the Lord: I have returned to Jerusalem with compassion (lovingkindness and mercy). My house shall be built in it, says the Lord of hosts, and a measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem [with a view to rebuilding its walls]. 17 Cry yet again, saying, Thus says the Lord of hosts: My cities shall yet again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion and shall yet choose Jerusalem." AMP
I believe that God is answering the prayer of His people "let Your Kingdom come." We have seen in passages throughout the bible that at times the Lord has come down to see what man has done. I believe that He has come and He has pulled out His measuring line to measure the Church. Our representation and how we have built has not measured up to kingdom standards. Thus the shaking! One of our first tasks in this commission is to put away our concepts of how it will be and what it will look like, because the thing God wants to do cannot be measured.
This is a season where God is putting emphasis on the marketplace because He wants to be known there. He wants to be seen and revealed. Why the marketplace? Many times the thing that we profess or have faith in does not work in real life. In the marketplace you cannot hide your character. People know whether or not you are true and if the Gospel has affected your life. "When unbelievers lead the way in inventions and artistic expression, it is because the church has embraced a false kind of spirituality." Bill Johnson
This year God wants to stretch your capacity.
Throughout much of church history, people have been stripped of their God given gifts, talents and desires under the umbrella of devotion to Christ. It has removed the believer from the ministry of creativity, which brings through them the glory of their Creator. One of the most natural parts of being created by God is the ability to dream and create. It is a God given gift. Most believers in ministry have been reduced to relying solely on the financial and emotional support of others, rather than using this God given gift to create. A renewed mind understands that in the Kingdom of God, He wants his rule and dominion in every part of society. Every problem that society experiences, there's an answer in God. God has the solution!!! With a kingdom perspective and a personal relationship with the Creator, we can have answers to problems in the same way that Daniel and Joseph did in their day.
Wisdom and creativity are related subjects in the bible. Creativity is a manifestation of wisdom with excellence and integrity. Both wisdom and creativity must not be separate in our minds. They are the tools needed to bring the unbeliever to the realization of the Creator of all things. We must take over the planet. The church must take ownership and stewardship of God's earth (Ps 24). Muslim children are trained from a young age on how to take dominion, while most Christian children are trained to refrain from being involved in this world because the ultimate goal is to escape it. It's time to ask the Lord for creativity to flow through us at a new level, along with the wisdom to know what to do with this new revelation.
