Designed to Hear God
The divine intention of God has always been to be our friend, yet there are many people who doubt that God speaks personally. Repeatedly, they ask, "Does a living God really speak, and can we know His voice?
The answer is... ABSOLUTELY.

Hello friends,

I am on a ministry trip in the Ukraine and Poland this week.  I would like to encourage you to attend the upcoming Apostolic School hosted by my friend Sam Soleyn, 16th-20th March, 2009. There will be leaders gathering from the different parts of our nation to be part of this leadership school.  The mornings will be focused on leaders and the evenings are open to the public at no cost.  Take time off your schedules to be part of these timely meetings.

Gene 100x100 I'm discovering that many of God's twenty-first century ways of communication is different than what He spoke in the twentieth century. He speaks in agreement with the counsel of His own will for the particular time frame. He's not driven to speak based on human need or input, but by divine purpose. Greatness allows Him to resist the temptation to unveil certain things before their appointed seasons. Nothing is premature, regardless of how opportunistically we batter the heavens in prayer. God's unveilings are completely in alignment with His appointments.

People are driven by the anti-Kingdom emotion of fear, covetousness and greed, which is the polar opposite of love. At this level, there's always the need to amass more things to present an artificial face of prosperity. Then, you must fight the dreadful consequences of not having enough money to pay for acquisitions, and the need to make more money in order to support everything you thought the initial money would fund. The frightening part of this deception is how much it portrays ordinary Christians in America. We're burdened by the fact that our current economy permits ordinary men to purchase things only wealthy men could just a few decades earlier, which is dangerous.

Many individuals have excelled in the principles of finance and reaped great rewards. They applied the law of seedtime and harvest, but did not learn the secret of distribution and have found money to be a tremendous burden. Why? I believe Lord Francis Bacon discovered and delivered an important key of explanation. He said: "Money is a great treasure that only increases as you give it away." Anyone who has read the teachings of Jesus knows this is a Kingdom principle. If we don't learn the secrets of distribution, we'll find ourselves hoarding, strapped with financial worries, and burdened most of the time. More than likely, we'll climb aboard the ship of consumerism and materialism and acquisitions getting us involved in things the Father never intended us to get involved with.
We must understand economic strategies from a Kingdom perspective

What is happening in the world's culture is most people want more money without actually understanding money. Anytime we receive something without the gift of understanding we will more than likely abuse it. If you are among the misguided earthlings who believe more money equates to more happiness and joy, your bubble is about to burst.

Although our purchasing power is greater than the last 100 years, the polls will tell you people are less happy and more depressed than ever before.
Anything in the commodity and consumer category cannot make us happier. It's the meaningful things of purpose, the issues connected to legacy, and greater obedience that produces greater happiness in the Kingdom!
Placing your happiness in a consume-all-I-want basket makes your joy extremely vulnerable. True, lasting joy is in the Kingdom! The teachings of the Kingdom develop the God-like traits, strengths, and talents in every Kingdom citizen, pressing everyone to keep the bigger picture in mind. Such things as love, creativity, kindness, service to others, and gratitude are universal characteristics of Christ's nature. Therefore, what really makes each of us happy and joyful is to be other-people centered. The greatest service and love can only be expressed outside of ourselves. Kingdom distribution permits us to express natural, internal traits and strengths constant with who we have become in Christ. A much more reliable foundation for joy is established when we behave out of the Christ nature instead of filling our lives with commodities.
Your Light has Come
by Mark Durniak

mark As bad news continues to spread, the earth is increasingly covered in darkness.  There must be a people who decide they will not be affiliated with it.  When this decision is made, a light is turned on. When we choose to not participate in current events, we become light in the darkness.

Isaiah 60:1-3, ""Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2 "For behold, darkness will cover the earth  And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you  And His glory will appear upon you. 3 " Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

For most of us alive today, there is no greater time to walk in fulfillment of this scripture.  Jesus called us the light of the world.  Christ in us is the hope of glory.  We carry the aroma of Christ wherever we go.

Light is not meant to be looked at - it is meant to bring illumination.  As the light, we are not to bring attention to ourselves, but to reveal the way, the truth and the life. Too often we have believed our presence in others lives is to convict them of their sin.  Though this may be a result, I have found the true Light reveals the glory of God hidden in every person and situation it illumines. When God is revealed, sin is taken care of subtly and for good.

To be light in the darkness means to be counter to the existing culture.  So, when everyone is screaming sell, the light is buying.  As credit tightens and banks get stingy, the light is more liberal than ever.  If doom and gloom is the news of the day, the light declares the best is yet to come.

You don't become Goshen by identifying with Egypt. When you believe God is your light, He will rise upon you and your boldness will be magnetic.  This begs the question - How do we live in this present world yet have radically dif ferent life results?  We talk that God's people can be immune to their surroundings, but how?  I believe the answer lies in chapter 58 of Isaiah:

Isa 58:6-9, "Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke? 7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?   "Then your light will break out like the dawn,  And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. 9 "Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'

Our decision to care for those suffering in the darkness is our light switch. I believe there is no greater evangelistic tool in this current season than generosity.  To be liberal with all we have will be so counter culture that people will run to us.  Our righteousness will make way for us; His glory will be our rear guard resulting in an abundant life the world will thirst to have.  There is another option in this climate - the kingdom of God.  This kingdom is at hand and is being brought to bear by a people who believe in and live for its King.  Righteousness and justice are its administration and light and abundance are its reward.  Make a decision today to be a part of it.
