One of our divers made us aware of an awesome condo rental right across the street from Kamaole Beach II.  To book it, you can call Annette directly at 209-217-7389 and you can also check out the condo unit by clicking here.
Hot tip for those of you who will check this out at work:  hit the mute button on your computer first!

Yes, the Diamond can take you to Molokini, but they also have other fun charters available, including the Hell Diver, the Carthaginian, and Back Wall.  Got a request?  Just call and ask!

Yes, we're doing it again, so grab your dive bunny, uh BUDDY, and head on down to Keawakapu Beach the day before Easter.  As always, we'll have lots of divers, lots of eggs, and lots of prizes for participants.  Mostly, we'll have lots of FUN!

 uw EGG HUNT 2011

So here's the scoop:

What:  Underwater Egg Hunt
Where:  Keawakapu Beach, where South Kihei Road ends
When:  April 23, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM, but get there early for parking and to set your gear up.
What Else:  The shop will be closed from 8:00-10:00AM on April 23rd so that we can all staff the event.
We are grateful to so many local businesses, including several right here in the Island Surf Building who have donated new prizes this year - woo hoo!
Advance sign-ups ARE required, so download this form, fill it out, and drop it by the shop before the 23rd!

Egg Hunt Group 10

Small Print:   If you've won the GRAND PRIZE at any of our previous egg hunts, congratulations!  Though you are not eligible to win the "big one" again, you can still go for one of the other prize eggs. Also, after holding this event for so many years, we are always looking for ways to spice things up.  If you've got an idea or two you'd like to share, please email us!
Earn a Specialty Certification Too!

Underwater Clean Up

Want to do something good for the underwater environment, learn some new skills, earn a specialty certification and have a blast while doing all that?  Well, we've got just the thing for you, and all for only $25!

MDDC and the MDII are hosting an underwater clean-up on April 22nd.  Dive participants must have their Advanced Open Water certifications to participate; otherwise, we'd love to have you along for surface support.

This Earth Day, we are also offering the PADI Project Aware Specialty certification to all participants; this will be a requirement for participation in this event and hey, this certification does count toward your Master Scuba Diver certification!  To download the manual, click here and you can also visit our site for more details or just call us at the shop.

Space is limited, so make sure you sign up early!

 Expo Logo

For the third year in a row, we will be attending the Northwest Dive and Travel Expo in Tacoma, Washington and we can't wait to visit you on your own turf!
So mark your calendars for April 9 & 10 and plan on joining us and hobnobbing with other local divers.  This expo will have over 50 seminars, 300 booths, and even a dinner event and film festival!
For more info, visit the Expo's site and for a discounted ticket, email us!  Oh, and one more thing:  The first 20 divers to visit our booth (that's booth 212) and mention this newsletter will receive a free MDDC water bottle!
This is Rachel speaking and I just want to tell you all (if there's anyone left who hasn't heard me say this yet), that I LOVE MY NEW LOTUS BCD!!  Lotus BCD
We first received Aqualung's new Lotus (for the ladies) and Dimension (for the guys) BCDs in stock in late December and I got one for Christmas but didn't get around to trying it out until recently.
I have to say that I loved it from the moment I put it on (it usually takes me a week or so to get used to and then get around to liking new gear) and that this caused me to do a little happy-with-my-new-gear dance underwater.  Though I also own the very light weight Zuma BCD for traveling, I have to say that I might not be able to leave home without my new Lotus.
Not only is this a slick looking BCD, but it's a back-inflate BC with the i3 technology, and just the right amount of pockets, d-rings, etc.  The fit is just perfection.  Next time you're in the shop, you'll have to try one of these babies on and let me show you all the cool features!
