Saturday's March 31 & April 28

Northside Drive is helping two of these families. We need six volunteers for Saturday, March 31, and six volunteers for Saturday, April 28. The main responsibilities of the volunteers will be to paint and decorate the bedrooms. If you would like to sign up for a one of these teams, email Mike Gregg at mike@northsidedrive.org. More detailed information will be communicated to volunteers.

You may drop off the eggs at the church office during the week or in the Children's Sunday School room every Sunday until Easter.

Nursery Help for Easter Sunday, April 8

In order to keep our nursery safe with an increased number of children during Easter Sunday Worship, the Children's Committee needs you to volunteer to be in a preschool room or the nursery. Please contact Mike Gregg at mike@northsidedrive.org for availability and more information.

Palm Sunday

Children and Youth Waving Palms

Sunday, April 1, at the 11 AM Worship Service

Attention all children and youth! Sunday, April 1, is Palm Sunday! We want you to help us praise Jesus in worship by waving palm branches in the air! Please meet Mr. Mike in the Narthex before the 11 AM Worship Service on April 1, to get your palm branches and instructions about waving them in the service. Bring a friend to Palm Sunday!

Participate in a Passover Seder Service

Wednesday, April 4, at 6:45 PM

Every spring, our Jewish brothers and sisters celebrate the Passover feast. It is an eight day celebration, begun with the Seder, the Passover Meal. Passover is one of the high holidays-the most holy of days-in the Jewish year. It marks the single most important event in Jewish history, the Exodus from Egypt. And Passover is a joyous celebration. In that event, God delivered a people from oppressive slavery, and called them to be the people that would make this God known to the rest of the world.

Celebrate the Passover Seder Service at Northside Drive on Wednesday night, April 4, at 6:45 PM, in the Fellowship Hall. Please make reservations through Renee Gamache at 404-237-8621.

Missions CornerBuckner

Through the Missions Budget, Northside Drive contributes to more than 25 agencies and organizations. In the next few months we will spotlight some of the groups where our mission dollars are at work.

Buckner Baptist Benevolences (now called Buckner International)was founded in Texas in 1877 through the inspiration and leadership of R.C. Bucker. Today, Buckner International operates programs throughout the world and is one of the largest private social care agencies of its kind in the United States. Buckner International provides services that include:

~ residential child care, orphan care, adoption and foster-care

   services,

~ senior adult services,

~ missionary opportunities,

~ education and job readiness training,

~ global humanitarian aid, medical clinics,

~ global humanitarian aid program, Shoes for Orphan Souls,

which provides shoes for needy children around the world.

At the invitation of former Northside Driver, Mary Keller, our church got involved with the global work of Buckner International when about 20 of our members traveled to Guatemala to work in orphanages in 2006 and 2007. It echoed some aspects of Operation Touch done by Northside Drive in the 1960's. We "airlifted" a Vacation Bible School, some supplies, and ourselves. We gave our time in loving service to kids who needed a lot of love. Also, we were touched by God's love; and we grew in relationship with one another.

To learn more about the work of Buckner or to receive their newsletter, log onto their website www.buckner.org
