YOUTH BACK-TO-SCHOOL COOKOUT AND POOL PARTY
 We are having a back-to-school cookout and pool party at the home of Kristofer Schleicher and Karen Perry Sunday, August 9 from 12:30-4:00 PM. Bring your swimsuit, a towel, and sunscreen if you would like to swim in the pool. The party will begin after worship service this Sunday. Lunch will be provided. IDC SUMMIT 2009

The Interfaith Disability Connection (IDC) will present its second annual educational conference on Sunday, August 9, from 1-6 PM at the Sloppy Floyd Building in Atlanta, Georgia. The "2009 Interfaith Disability Connection Summit: Pursuing Inclusion Beyond the Ramp" is a one day event that focuses on how religious communities can make their houses of worship and programs more accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities and their families. Topics will go beyond physical barriers and discuss creating services and programs that are inclusive of all members of the community. NDBC STAINED GLASS WINDOWS OF NORTHSIDE DRIVE
The book will be dedicated on August 16 during NDBC's worship service at 11 AM. Our own Myrtie Cope, photographer, will be available to autograph your copy after the dedication service. A copy of the book is in the office hallway of the Chapel during the summer for previewing purposes. Pre-orders have ended, but there will be books available for purchase at the book signing. The cost is $30 per book. |

SUMMER ADULT CHURCH SCHOOL

A 12-week video study, featuring John Dominic Crossan and Marcus Borg and their architectural, geographical and spiritual journey through the Middle East. Each class contains a 20-minute video followed by in depth learning and conversation. WOMENS SPIRITUAL RETREAT

UNPLUG THE CHRISTMAS MACHINE WORKSHOP
 Join us for a weekly workshop focusing on bringing love and joy back into the chaotic Christmas season. The workshop will be on Thursday nights October 1-22, from 6-8 PM, with dinner from 6-6:30 PM and small group discussion following. MISSION OPPORTUNITY 2009 Habitat for Humanity Build Volunteers from our congregation are needed for the 2009 Interfaith Partnership for Habitat for Humanity. Partnership congregations include Ahavath Achim Synagogue, All Saints CCU, Congregation B'nai Torah, Greater Springfield Baptist Church, St. Anne's Episcopal and Trinity Presbyterian. Wieuca Road Baptist Church is joining our Partnership this year. Northside Drive will provide workers for four Saturdays beginning September 12. Our scheduled workdays are September 12, 19, 26 and October 10. The house will be dedicated on Sunday, October 25. More information about the build will be available in the coming weeks. Sign-up will begin on Sunday, August 30 following the worship service. Please consider participating in this very important mission work.
