This consortium implemented Lunch-n-Learn, Day Club, Medical Escort Transportation, and Faith and Action Friends and Neighbors. LIFESPAN volunteers give over 10,000 hours of service each year to meet the needs of the growing population of elderly in the Northwest Atlanta area. May is Older American's Month. TRIPLE E: ENGAGE. ENRICH. ENJOY.
NDBC is forming a new group to continue the educational/missions programs, community outreach, and fellowship the WOC and PIA's have provided for many years. The idea of TRIPLE E is to ENGAGE with the world by keeping up to date on missions in the church, ENRICH our lives and others through learning and community, and ENJOY intergenerational fellowship with church members and guests. It will meet on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning in September 2009. To accomplish this, there must be a few by-law changes: IV. Church Committees and Auxiliary Organizations A. Church Committees--Add TRIPLE E and Special Care (baby meals and funeral receptions/meals for grieving families) to the list of church committees; remove PIA and WOC B. Church Council--Add TRIPLE E to the Church Council; remove PIA and WOC (Special Care will report in and be represented through the Diaconate) D. Nominating Committee--Add TRIPLE E to the groups providing a representative to the Nominating Committee; remove PIA and WOC. Add Worship/Music as the other committee providing a representative G. Auxiliary Organizations--Add TRIPLE E as an auxiliary organization; remove PIA and WOC The all important work of WOC and PIA will continue uninterrupted, as other groups pick up their tasks. We believe TRIPLE E will bring new life and new joy into what we offer our congregation and the community. |
