THREE IN ONE!
This past week, FFCC coordinated three food packaging events in one week. That's a record! The first was in Pequannock, New Jersey. Sponsored by Always Positive, this community packed 58,000 meals. Phil Harris, Sean Harris, and Mike Goggins flew from San Diego to New Jersey and showed this east coast community how it's done. To understand the impact that the event had on this community, click here to read an article from the NorthJersey.com, an online news source.
The FFCC crew flew home on Monday, then, on Wednesday, we were at San Pasqual High School. San Pasqual's Fight Against Hunger & ASB Clubs raised the money and organized a 5,000 meal event that they hosted at lunch time on their campus. They did an amazing job of introducing this work to their student body and faculty. The event was a huge success!
We finished the week at Del Norte High School. The DNHS K.I.N. (Kids in Need) Club pulled off a 20,000 meal event with close to 300 student volunteers. Radio station, Z-90, kept the event lively with great music and Sweet Treats had their truck full of goodies for the volunteers. Thank you to Sprouts and the other contributors for helping these students show that they too can make a significant impact in this fight against hunger.
In total, we packed 83,000 meals and shared this wonderful work with many who have never experienced it before. Now, that's a good week!

FFCC HAITI TEAM #10 PREPARES FOR DEPARTURE
On March 31, 2012, eleven of our FFCC family will board a plane headed for Haiti. This team reflects the diversity of our FFCC family and exemplifies our philosophy that we all can make a difference no matter our age or experience.
This team of five high school students, one college student, two moms, two business men, and one retiree, will spend 9 days working to bring hope and encouragement to the Haitian people that they touch. We are bringing our non-perishable meals, water filters for safe drinking water, some medication, and lots of smiles and hugs.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our team as they travel and will look forward to updating you on the impact that they are sure to make. Bon Voyage!

NEEDED MEDICATIONS FOR THE GIRLS OF GUNDA SECONDARY SCHOOL

In 2010, FFCC had a ribbon cutting ceremony at Gunda Secondary School in Nkungi Village, Tanzania. The ceremony was to officially open a girls' dormitory that would provide a safe, comfortable place for the girls to live while they were going to school. Today, 96 high school aged girls call this place home. On our last visit to the school this past February, the school's headmaster asked if we could help provide some necessary medications that the girls sometimes need.
Those of us with children can certainly understand the value of having a well-stocked medicine chest! With 96 "children" to care for, we can certainly understand the headmaster's dilemma.
Please CLICK HERE for a list of needed medications.
You can either donate the medication (must not be expired) or you can designate funds towards the purchase of these medications. We will transport the medications in June 2012, when our FFCC team travels to Tanzania on our 12th journey.
