Do You Have Any Old T-Shirts or
Sheets Lying Around?

Poway High School's Fight Against Hunger Club

Fabric Drive

Through This Friday, November 18th!

The students at Poway High School (PHS) are collecting good pillow cases, sheets, ribbon, trim (lace, etc), and t-shirts for girls. They will give all the materials to a local volunteer, Ethel Warner, who makes dresses for girls in third world countries.

If you would like to contribute, you can drop off materials in the administration or counseling offices at PHS. There will be turn-in boxes located there. You can also contact Tina Socha (tina.socha@san.rr.com) to make other arrangements.

Ethel is also looking for anyone willing to help make the dresses. If interested, contact Tina Socha and she will connect you. The patterns will be provided.

Gabby Kitch, the PHS Fight Against Hunger Club president will be traveling to Haiti with FFCC this April and plans to bring the dresses with her to deliver to the orphan girls she met last year.  PHS's FAH Club appreciates your support!

Can You Host A Soldier This Holiday Season?
Home for the Holidays is a special program sponsored by the MCAS Miramar Enlisted Recreation Center. It coordinates placement of single servicemen or women into the homes of community families to celebrate Thanksgiving, as well as Christmas. Caring families are asked to host service members who are unable to be with their own families and loved ones on these traditional family holidays. These families are carefully selected to suit our active duty service members and host preferences. The link is: http://www.mccsmiramar.com/greatescape_homefortheholidays.html
