PACKING IN STYLE!

The Centre at Lexus of Escondido

The Centre at Lexus Escondido to host
FFCC's 27th Food Packaging Event
October 23, 2011

We are excited to finally announce the venue for FFCC's 27th Food Packaging Event. The location of this event offers an amazing opportunity to increase San Diego County's awareness of our Fight Against Hunger!

The Centre at Lexus Escondido is a "world within a world" and has offered to open up its doors to support FFCC's mission to eliminate starvation. At its heart lies the luxury "super dealership" that is Lexus Escondido. However, beyond the usual automotive offerings are where this dealership diverges and transforms into The Centre. Within the 326,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility a glass elevator lifts you to three stories of luxury amenities that include: a golf simulator, a learning center, a business center, a private library with massage chairs, a Cyber Caf, a children's area, a planned mall of retail shops, plush conference rooms and over 27,000 square feet of event space-complete with outdoor fire pits-that can be used for concerts, weddings, banquets and more.

General registration opens on October 3rd.
Don't miss this special event!

Thank You FFCC!

FFCC is impacting the 2nd largest leper colony in the world!

    Leper Colony hands 2011

My first trip to the leper colony in Tanzania was June of 2007. This is the second largest leper colony in the world!  It was the first time I'd seen the effects of this devastating disease. I was rocked to my core watching how these amazing people have endured the pain and isolation that comes with this disease. Watching these men and women learn how to survive with no toes, fingers, feet and the facial deformities was both heartbreaking and amazing.  Many had crutches and canes; however, the terrain is so difficult to negotiate that many don't leave their huts unless absolutely necessary.

FFCC has distributed thousands of meals and supplies to Tanzania's largest leper colony.  We have also donated and shipped hand tools that have been modified uniquely for those with no fingers or hands. Our latest project has been to design and build a 30' trailer that can be used as a taxi and as a mode of transportation to take the fresh fruits and vegetables they've grown to market. The trailer and canopy was designed to fit in our 40' shipping container that can be transported to Tanzania.

In addition to the trailer, FFCC will pack meals and other needed medical supplies that will ship this October. FFCC will  purchase a tractor from Tanzania that will pull the trailer and be used to help plow the fields for the colony. The tractor and trailer will be presented to the leper colony residents in February 2012. This gift will be an incredible surprise and blessing to the hundreds of lepers in this village and  will make their daily struggle a little easier.

Thank you FFCC family for your help to make this impossible dream possible!  On October 23rd, the trailer will be on display at our 27th Food Packaging Event. Come out and see this gift and help us send it off to Africa in style. If you would like to join the team here in San Diego to care for the needs of this village, please contact Tina Socha at [email protected].

Local Moms Need Help
Currently, we have two new Moms needing help with some baby items.
  • Does anyone have a stroller in good condition that you don't need any longer?
  • How about an infant carseat that can be passed to a family in need?

Please contact Becky at [email protected].
