Greetings!
So much to do... but so many of us to join in and help! What a blessing for us to have the opportunity to stay involved and help neighbors in need within our local community, as well as at the "ends of the earth"!
Our local high school students are leading by example by getting involved in Fight Against Hunger Clubs on campuses across the San Diego area. Thanks for encouraging those students you know to stay engaged as the future of many is truly in their hands!
Also in this issue -- Join us this Labor Day at the Salvation Army and/or pick up a gift card for a local child in need of new school shoes.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership!

Aaaaaaaand ...They're Off!
Fight Against Hunger Clubs
are back on campus

RBHS Club Logo
This past Saturday, the leadership teams from seven different high schools gathered to kick-off the second year of Fight Against Hunger (FAH) Clubs on our local school campuses.
The students shared their passion for making a difference - not only through eradicating hunger, but also in caring for our local homeless, those with special needs, and under-privileged children - as well as, getting involved with FFCC's Impact H2O initiative and other medical & education projects in Tanzania and Haiti.
Throughout the meeting, the students expressed their commitment to making an impact in our local community and around the world. We strategized around ways for the students to organize their clubs and discussed creative tactics for them to use in communicating opportunities to get involved to their fellow students.
Most high schools have a "Club Rush" at the start of the school year, during which different clubs on campus are introduced. Be looking for the Fight Against Hunger Club at your local high school and get involved! If your school doesn't have one yet, start one today! Contact Tina Socha for more information (tina.socha@san.rr.com).

This Labor Day, Join FFCC's Homeless Outreach!

We are so excited to serve our homeless neighbors this month! Help us to creatively love on them in their time of need.
- BRING WATER BOTTLES & SOCKS (an equal number of each, please). We'll decorate the socks and fill them with water bottles for each of our guests.
- BRING A GREAT BOOK that you've read to share with someone.
- Some of our FFCC volunteers are also bringing make-up bags & nail polish for the ladies!
Be creative! We want our guests to leave feeling full - not just in their stomachs, but in their hearts, too!
We'll see you at 6pm at the Salvation Army, 825 7th Avenue, San Diego 92101. Don't miss it!
