Greetings & Thanks from FFCC's Team in Haiti!
To our FFCC family, the Haiti team sends their greetings & thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!
The team has been enduring the heat & humidity of the day and the intense storms in the evening. Even still, they are accomplishing much and having an incredible trip. Below is an excerpt from this weeks updates.
Today we began work on the admin building for the orphanage. We got a lot of landscaping done by the end of a full day's work. We were presented with a spontaneous opportunity this evening to go to an orphanage "close by". Just when everyone was getting tired of the long car ride, we were greeted by the most affectionate kids we have ever met. These children suffer from Cholera and Typhoid, just to name a few. Most of them lost their parents in the earthquake, and even though they have less experience with love than most children, they were somehow the most loving kids we have had the privilege to meet. We can not wait to go back.
In addition to working on the landscape of the first phase of the Shepherd's House orphanage in Gressier, the team has also been to some of the surrounding towns & tent cities installing water filters, distributing food & new handmade dresses for the young orphan girls. They have met with Congressman, Mayors & other leaders to continue to understand how FFCC can effectively help the people of Haiti. The team will return to San Diego on Sunday evening. Stay tuned for more heartwarming stories of their adventures.
