G.729 FOR ASTERISK

Codec Performance Tables and G.729 Implementation Instructions Published
We have published implementation instructions to allow customers to utilize the popular G.729 voice codec on the full Xorcom line of Asterisk-based IP-PBX appliances. In addition, we have published performance tables for a variety of popular codecs as measured on each of the Xorcom systems.

The document also provides information about obtaining the G.729 codec, licensing restrictions, and methods for calculating the number of required G.729 channels based on the planned usage of the PBX system.

Click here to view the implementation instructions and performance tables on the Xorcom Web site.

NEW APPLICATION NOTE: MWI FOR ANALOG LINES
Message Waiting Indicator Especially PopulaAnalog phone with message waiting indicator (MWI)r in Hotel and Enterprise Implementations
We've recently added a new application note to our library. It discusses the popular Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) feature, a light on an analog telephone set that indicates a voice message has been recorded and is waiting for the recipient at that extension.

The application note is available on our Web site, and can also be downloaded as a PDF file.
