On Day One - Class of 2015 Christiana Freshmen arrives with crisp shirts, wide smiles, and ready to prepare for college!
At NLCP, College is What We Do!
Going "back to school" at NLCP is no simple thing.
On August 15th, 240 members of the class of 2015 walked in the door for their freshmen orientation. Take a look at the coverage NLCP received on ABC and CBS TV! Click Here
The freshmen were joined by another 750 students, making the school's 2011-2012 enrollment of 896, the largest in NLCP history.
But wait, there's more! All during August our alumni have been going to college. 90% of June's 2011 graduates are now in college, joining the 380 NLCP alumni who are in or have already finished college. In addition, 25 of our alumni are either beginning or going back to graduate school.
Going "back to school" NLCP style is no simple thing - it runs from 9th grade all the way through graduate school. Actions express priorities - and our "Back to School" actions express our school's mission to:
"...prepare young people from under-resourced communities for graduation from high school with the academic skills and personal resilience necessary for successful completion of college."
Dear Friends of NLCP,
You Make Our Work Possible - Thank You.
190 NLCP Graduates - Class of 2011
90% of NLCP's 2011 graduates are going to college
Over $6.4 million in scholarship awards for the Class of 2011
NLCP, for two years in a row, ranks first among all traditional CPS high schools and charter schools in percentage of our graduates IN college the fall after high school graduation.*
In August, we welcomed 240 members of the Class of 2015, our 14th class of freshmen.
Major accomplishments like this are the work of many hands. To all of you who have given gifts of time and treasure, we send our deepest gratitude. You have helped our students rise, and they will alter the trajectory of their neighborhoods.
We promise to work as hard as we can, every day, to justify your trust in us.
Gratefully,
The Entire NLCP Community
