Colby Sawyer Alums Group 1
This is the first group of five from NLCP (Class of 2009) to attend Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. A second group of five (Class of 2010) is also at Colby-Sawyer.
NLCP is #1 among all charter and traditional Chicago Public High Schools
when it comes to the percentage of our graduates in college. According to data just released by the National Student Clearing-house, NLCP's class of 2009 had the highest percentage of our alumni attending college the fall after their graduation. These results are better than any charter high school; better than any neighborhood school. 87% of the Class of 2009 is now in college.

As happy as we are about these world-class results, NLCP is pursuing a grander goal: to lead all high schools in the percentage of our alumni graduating college. And we are well on our way.

Michael Bell, Class 2006 at Tuskegee 2010
Michael Bell, NLCP Class of 2006, is currently attending Tuskegee University.
At this moment over 370 of our alumni are attending 127 different colleges in 33 states.
Eighteen of our college graduates have either earned or are finishing their Masters degrees while another 14 are in the process of enrolling.

This June NLCP will graduate 200 seniors (our first graduating class from both campuses!) Over 180 graduates will go on to college. This is the way generational poverty ends. This is the way a community comes back to life. This is the way a country makes good on its promise to provide a superior education for ALL citizens.

Eric Madlock in Front of Carbondale Sign
Eric Madlock, NLCP Class of 2005, is a proud graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale and is a Masters candidate at Illinois State University.
These results can only continue with your help. As a charter school, NLCP receives about $2,000 less per student than traditional Chicago public schools. Our spending is less than the average CPS high school and far less than many of our suburban counterparts. We cannot fill this funding gap and continue producing our remarkable results without your help.

It is official. With your help, NLCP will have more than 1000 alumni in college or graduated in 4 years. Please support our mission and enable our wonderful results to continue.

Sincerely,

John Horan
NLCP President
