WE ACT Co-Founder to Receive the Damu Smith Award
 
WE ACT for Environmental Justice is pleased to announce that Vernice D. Miller-Travis - our Co-Founder and Board Member - has been selected to receive the third annual Damu Smith Environmental Achievement Award. This award recognizes crosscutting collaborative work that has enhanced or increased understanding of economic security, ecological conservation, culture, or health. The award will be presented in a ceremony at the Pennsylvania Convention Center this coming Monday, November 9, 2009. Then please make plans to join WE ACT and your fellow Northern Manhattan residents at a Community Forum to discuss plans for the redevelopment of the MTS on Saturday, November 21st from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
