The Cost of Abuse 

 

Child abuse is a serious U.S. public health problem that comes with a hefty price tag for victims and society. 

 

A recent report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that the estimated lifetime cost for each survivor of child abuse is $210,012. This is comparable to other costly health conditions such as stroke and type 2 diabetes.
