Michigan Ballot Initiatives Approved By Court
|
Speaking  of the November ballot questions, Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bob Young has a recent editorial on why the Court ruled to allow several of these questions on the ballot. He notes that the Court's rulings were consistent with the "Rule of Law court" that is so important to good government because the people have a constitutional right to decide these kinds of policy questions. This week's unemployment statistics highlighted the dismal side of our "recovery" under President Obama: people continue to leave the workforce because they cannot find jobs. Even though the official unemployment rate dropped to 8.1%, it did so only because about 4 people quit looking for work for every 1 that actually found work.
