You Thought Obama-Care Was Bad!

9th District logo

Just wait until you hear about Obama-Ed!  Lindsey Burke, Education Policy Expert from the renowned Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC, will address a public forum sponsored by the 9th District Republicans on "Obama-Ed", Wednesday, May 2nd.  Doors open at 6:30pm, with Mr. Lindsey's talk beginning at 7:00pm.  The forum will be at the Bloomfield Township Offices Auditorium, 4200 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills (south of Long Lake, west side of Telegraph).

Come learn from this foremost education policy expert how the Obama Administration is over-reaching its authority to try to impose nationalized standards and curriculum for K-12 education. Hear about the costs to our state and to educational liberty posed by national common core standards and tests; learn why state leaders should reject this federal over-reach. Nationalizing the content taught in local schools further removes parents, who have the most at stake in their children's education from the equation, from the equation. With little public notice, many state leaders have jumped on the national standards bandwagon. But it's not too late to reverse course.

Light refreshments will be served. For more information contact the   Michigan Ninth Congressional District Republicans PAC, PO Box 80755, Rochester  MI  48308.

Definition of a Tax Increase

Definition of a Tax Increase

Another April has come and gone, and with it,
"Tax Day." If you thought you paid too much this year, just wait until next year!  No matter what President Obama, Senator Stabenow and other Democrats say during an election year, the facts don't change. Their only economic policy consistently involves raising taxes on hard working middle class taxpayers to pay for their runaway spending spree.

The President's health care law, "ObamaCare", included 21 new or higher taxes. President Obama's proposed 2013 budget would raise taxes on 27% of U.S. households. Tax increases like these slow economic growth and discourage job creation. We need real tax reform - not more excuses for increased government spending. Play the video and listen in on how hard it is for Democrats to define their tax increases as something else.  There's still a chance to make next year's tax bill smaller: put a Republican in the White House in November.

The Republican mission seeks to maintain a strong defense, encourage individual achievement and liberty through the free enterprise system, and strengthen families.  If you would like to help us move the area and the country towards these goals, please consider donating to the Saginaw County Republican Committee.  Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we can find and elect people to work for those goals.  You can do so by mail to PO BOX 6653, Saginaw, MI  48608 or on the web at www.saginawcountygop.com.

Sincerely,
