Campaign School
Citizens For Traditional ValuesCitizens for Traditional Values will be holding a Campaign School for Candidates & Grassroots Leaders on December 9-10.  The school will be in Lansing, with featured speaker Matt Robbins.  Matt is the National Executive Director with American Majority, a cutting-edge national organization. He brings a wealth of experience from a social and economic conservative perspective. He will apply his expertise primarily in the campaign portion of the program.  Matt has personally trained thousands of political activists nationwide and in several foreign countries on campaign management, communications and party and candidate development.

If you attend, you will receive training from proven experts on all things necessary to run a successful campaign as a strong advocate for traditional conservative family values.  You will also hear first-hand from leaders who have participated in the political arena and discover valuable insight on the constitutional and historical values found in our American heritage and how those apply in today's culture.

Speaker of the Michigan House Jase Bolger, a previous attendee, notes, "The CTV Campaign school is a great resource for candidates or those just thinking about running for office. I value my experiences at the campaign school and would encourage others to take advantage of the opportunity as well."

The cost is just $89 and details, schedule, and registration form are at the Citizens for Traditional Values website.

Start A New Christmas Gift Tradition

Christmas wreath
As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with piles of cheaply produced merchandise. Instead of purchasing all those non-American-made products, why not try something different? Instead of complaining that nothing can be found that is produced in America, think outside the box! Who says a gift needs to fit in a box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?

Everyone, yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates from your local American hair salon or barber?  Or, get your car detailed at a local, American owned detail shops or car wash, using  a book of gift certificates.  Maybe an oil change for someone's car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?

Perhaps your grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed all summer, or driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course?  Maybe your mom's computer could use a tune-up, done by the computer nerd at a local shop.  Mom might also appreciate the services of a local cleaning lady for a day.

There are hundreds of owner-run restaurants -- all offering gift certificates! And no, we're not talking about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open!  And don't forget to leave your server a nice tip.

If you're looking for something more personal, get out and buy some local crafts.  Check all the Christmas bazaars and support artisans.  Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.  Or head out for the night and see a play or concert at your hometown theater.

This Christmas, let's care about US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine. THIS can be the new American Christmas tradition.

We The People...Or Subjects Of The King?
We The People

Democrats are sounding more like Dictatorcrats lately. Peter Orszag, Obama's former Director for Management and Budget called for "a bit less democracy," while advocating that issues relating to the economy be turned over to a panel of experts.  Apparently, all those elected representatives of the people are just in the way.  Then, North Carolina Democrat Governor Beverly Perdue suggested we skip elections!  Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. (yes, someone elected him) has called on President Obama to use "extra-constitutional" means and simply order the expenditure of $1 trillion a year to bailout states and cities.

Now of course, this is only a nightmare if it actually happens.  But the fact that so many Democrats are suggesting that we should abandon representative government in favor of dictatorial powers is extremely troubling!  Mr. Jackson further suggested the President could simply take matters into his own hands and end all the problems.  And then comes MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews with a rant calling for "radical solutions" that go "beyond the normal list of progressive or conservative tools we've used to fix problems.""We may, as a society, have to take direct action to put people to work."  Just who among us has the right to take such action?

The Republican mission seeks to maintain a strong defense, encourage individual achievement and liberty through the free enterprise system, and strengthen families.  If you would like to help us move the area and the country towards these goals, please consider donating to the Saginaw County Republican Committee.  Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we can find and elect people to work for those goals.  You can do so by mail to PO BOX 6653, Saginaw, MI  48608 or on the web at www.saginawcountygop.com.
