News & Events

Dear Friends,

As we previously reported, State Representative Paul Scott (R-District 51, Grand Blanc) has been targeted for recall. In order to turnout the votes supporting Rep. Scott, the Michigan Republican Party Victory Center is now open in Grand Blanc.  The Party is asking for your help to dedicate one day a week to come to the Victory Center make phone calls supporting Rep. Scott through the election.  For more information or for any questions, please call Gary N. Koutsoubos, Michigan Republican Party, at 617-487-5413.

Closer to home, both State Attorney General Bill Schuette and state Sen. John R. Moolenaar of Midland are now facing recall challenges.  Petition language has just been approved, after the recall leaders tried and failed twice before to get approval.  Let your friends and relatives know so they can spread the word NOT to sign these.

And speaking of Bill Schuette, his BBQ is on Monday night, 5:30-7:30pm at the Midland Fairgrounds - $50.00 per family.

Fact Checking The President

Jobs?

Interesting reading at the Daily Caller, as they dissect President Obama's "jobs" speech.  They find plenty of disconnects with reality.

In addition, how many of you think that reducing the revenue to the Social Security system, which everyone agrees is currently underfunded and will be unable to pay the promised benefits in future years, is a good idea?  This is of course the result of taking some of the current payroll taxes that fund the system and putting the money back in our pockets next year, as the President proposed. Sure, it needs reform, but should the reform include having it run out of money even sooner than expected?

Hmmm...as I write this the Dow Jones average is down over 300 points the day after his speech.  Could it be that investors heard something they didn't like?
