Pete Hoekstra Endorsed by Governor Snyder
|
Governor Rick Snyder has endorsed Pete Hoekstra's candidacy to replace Debbie Stabenow in the United States Senate. The Governor joins a long list of Republicans endorsing Pete, including Oakland County Executive Brooks Patterson, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, former U.S. Senate candidate John McCulloch, former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, former Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop, Ambassador Peter Secchia, Congressman Justin Amash, and over 1000 grassroots activists across the state who recognize that the party must unite in order to defeat Senator Stabenow. Pete notes that, "The Democrats in Washington D.C., aided by Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, are adding trillions to our nation's debt, mortgaging our children and grandchildren's future, and their only solution is new revenue: code for raising taxes. Michigan needs a U.S. Senator who will stand up and lead in Washington D.C. in a way similar to how Rick Snyder is leading in Lansing." Senator Stabenow may be a liberal, but she is a focused campaigner. She defeated an incumbent Republican Senator in 2000, and already has over $4 million in the bank for this campaign.
