Republican Presidential Candidate John Davis In Caro
|
We've all heard about the very crowded Republican field of presidential candidates, but there's at least one name most of us haven't heard of. John Davis has been called a "low profile", "dark-horse," or "long shot" candidate. He certainly doesn't have political celebrity or entertainer status. And he most certainly is not a politician. But Mr. Davis is running for the Republican nomination for President. For his campaign, he has set the ambitious goal of visiting every one of the 3,143 counties across the country. He will be stopping in Caro on August 25th. The visit will be a quick "whistle stop" that lasts approximately 25 minutes. He already has visited with thousands of people in 1028 counties of thirty-two states. Davis is not discouraged by his low profile and not being mentioned in any of the polls at this time. He's been offered encouragement everywhere he goes. "I'm okay with not being in the typical media/political dog fight. I'd rather be on the road listening to what the people have to say," he said. "They want a common-sense guy," Davis said. "A lot of people don't want a career politician in office. They want a leader that will make the tough decisions. I am the guy that has what it takes to make the tough decisions and to get the job done. I have what it takes to be the President of the United States of America."
