 Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette will hold a fundraising Barbeque on Monday, September 12th. The event will be from 5:30-7:30pm at the Midland County Fairgrounds, 6905 Eastman Ave, Midland. Cost is $50 per family, and there are various sponsorship levels also available. The barbeque will have plenty of food, including roasted pork, corn-on-the-cob, popcorn, and ice cream. Help Representative Paul Scott!

As most of you are aware, State Representative Paul Scott (R-District 51, Grand Blanc) has been targeted for recall and there is a good chance his opponents have succeeded in getting his name on the ballot for the November election. We know that the Democrats, MEA and other Unions will be pouring a ton of outside money into the district to make sure they have the votes to remove the Representative from office.
In order to turnout the votes supporting Rep. Scott, the Michigan Republican Party will be re-opening the Genesee County Victory Center in Grand Blanc on September 6th. The Party is asking for your help to dedicate one day a week to come to the Victory Center make phone calls supporting Rep. Scott through the election. The Victory Center will be open 7 days a week and they will have multiple shifts so you can have maximum flexibility for your schedules.
To find the Victory Center in Grand Blanc, take I-75 to exit 108 (Holly Road), head northeast on Holly Rd to Saginaw Rd, turn right to the Grand Mall (on your left), and enter the Mall under the striped "Luca's" awning. Republican Presidential Debate In Michigan!

Keep this date open! Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan will host a debate for GOP presidential hopefuls on November 9th from 8:00-10pm. The debate is sponsored by the Republican National Committee. At this time, about 15 people have announced their candidacy, including Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, John Huntsman Jr., Mitt Romney, Thaddeus McCotter, Rick Perry and Ron Paul. It has not yet been announced which of these, if any, will appear at the debate. This debate is the only one scheduled so far in Michigan. You can read more in the Detroit Free Press.
