Why Vote Ruth Johnson For Secretary of State?
Ruth Johnson

Coming down to the wire, the race for Secretary of State appears to be tightening.  Don't let your friends and family forget to vote for Ruth Johnson for this important office!  While Oakland County Clerk, Michigan's second largest county, Ruth innovated by partnering with local libraries to provide better citizen service.  She also worked to ensure the ballot box is secure while increasing accessibility, with Operation: Our Troops Count, a program that ensures that those serving overseas have their vote counted.  She won 14 national awards for innovation, cost cutting, customer service, advancing government transparency, and protecting voter integrity.  Ruth promises to bring similar improvements and cost savings to the Secretary of State office.

Ruth notes that, "While I have been working to protect the integrity of the ballot box, my opponent has been working for those who want unfettered access - which translates into voter fraud, bogus outcomes and bought elections."  People like Mike McGuiness and Jason Bauer, who are now the prime suspects in the fake tea party scandal which deceived voters and is the subject of a grand jury proceeding for alleged election fraud, have been donors to her opponent's campaign. Liberal billionaire George Soros along with more than 800 out-of-state contributors have donated over $160,000! to her opponent, the most ever in out-of-state contributions for a Secretary of State race in Michigan. Why are people who don't even vote here eager to get Ms. Benson elected?  George Soros's organization has targeted Secretary of State offices all over the country to try to gain control of the voting system, that's why.

Besides voting for Ruth, you can help get the word out in this final week.  You can put up Ruth Johnson signs: they are available at the Saginaw Fix Michigan Center at 3071 Bay Rd., just north of Shattuck Rd.  You can also stop in at the Center to make phone calls to voters.  And, you can donate to her campaign.  In this final week, money to keep her advertising running will be important.

Congress's First Post-Election Task
Fix Healthcare If you need any ideas on what the new Congress should do first, look no further than repealing the disastrous Health Care Law that they passed this year.  Here's a few good reasons it should be first on the list.

The President's promise of ,"If you like the plan you have, you can keep it.", just isn't true.  Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, has already made the decision to cut millions of seniors' Part D Prescription drug plans and automatically enroll them in new plans with 15% higher premiums.

Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a new  3.8% Sales Tax.  The bulk of these new taxes don't kick in until 2013 (of course).  It's structured so that if you sell your $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax.  This bill is most likely to hit the retiring generation who often downsizes their homes.  In case you weren't aware this was in the "Obamacare" bill, you aren't alone. There are more than a few members of Congress that aren't aware of it either (probably because of those clandestine midnight votes for huge bills they've never read).

AND, there are a few other surprises lurking.  With as many as 20,000 new regulations in the works for the implementation of "Obamacare", Americans for Limited Government (ALG) Research Foundation recently launched ObamacareWatcher.org to keep track of the most damaging ones.  "ObamacareWatcher.org aims to keep the public informed about what is being proposed on the bureaucratic level to implement the national health care system, and to make it easy for activists to submit comments on proposed harmful regulations that will restrict the choices individuals can make about their doctors and their health care," said Don Todd, ALG's Research Director.

The Republican mission seeks to maintain a strong defense, encourage individual achievement and liberty through the free enterprise system, and strengthen families.  If you would like to help us move the area and the country towards these goals, please consider donating to the Saginaw County Republican Committee.  Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we can find and elect people to work for those goals.  You can do so by mail to PO BOX 6653, Saginaw, MI  48608 or on the web at www.saginawcountygop.com.

Sincerely,
Tim Kelly, Chair, Saginaw County Republican Party
