What's Wrong With Dale Kildee?
|

If you're not sure what it is about Congressman Dale Kildee that you don't like, you will find plenty to dislike at OnTheIssues.org. This organization tracks the votes of "Every political leader on every issue", so you may want to check out your other legislators, both State and Federal. Here's a disturbing sampling of what they show about Mr. Kildee: Voted YES on $192Billion additional anti-recession stimulus spending - (July 2009),
Voted YES on additional $825Billion for economic recovery package - (January 2009), Voted YES on $15Billion bailout for GM and Chrysler - (December 2008), Voted YES on $60Billion stimulus package - (September 2008), Voted NO on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman - (July 2006), Voted NO on vouchers for private & parochial schools - (November 1997), Voted YES on enforcing limits on CO2 as pollution leading to global warming - (June 2009), Voted NO on authorizing construction of new oil refineries - (October 2005), Voted NO on reducing Marriage Tax by $399Billion over 10 years - (March 2001), Voted NO on requiring photo ID for voting in federal elections - (September 2006), Voted NO on reforming the UN by restricting US funding - (June 2005)
and finally, Voted YES on Congressional pay raise - (June 2009). Lots of reasons there to vote for John Kupiec for Congress in our 5th District! |
"The Tea Party" Under Investigation
| Last week, Oakland
County Clerk Ruth Johnson announced that one of "The Tea Party"
candidates said in a letter to her office that he didn't sign any
papers saying he would run for office. Johnson brought out a letter signed by Aaron William Tyler, who is listed as "The Tea Party"
candidate for a post on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. The
letter reads: "I did not sign this. ...I have no intentions of running
for elected office... I believe a fraud was committed." Ruth Johnson has since turned over documents to the county prosecutor and Michigan Attorney General's office for further investigation.
According to Johnson, Tyler said
he was out of the state when he was alleged to have signed election
documents. She said Tyler called her office after he was sent notices
alerting him to late campaign reporting fines. Johnson showed three signed
forms from Aaron Tyler's election and voter identification paperwork. She believes the signature on the letter signed by Tyler
and sent to her office denying his role in "The Tea Party" matched his
voter registration card. But those two signatures did not appear to match the
signatures on "The Tea Party" election documents filed for his
candidacy.
The Oakland County Democratic
Party's political director, Jason Bauer, is the notary who
approved many of the election documents for "The Tea Party", including
Tyler's. Following Johnson's revelation
regarding Tyler, the Oakland County Democratic Party
announced on Sunday that Bauer had resigned from his position as political
director. You can read more on The Saginaw News website. |
Massive Rally Planned for Washington DC
| The first anniversary of the historic march on D.C. that happened
on 9/12/2009 is coming up! You can join millions of other patriots as they chant "Can you
hear us now?" by going back to Washington on this anniversary. The event includes a march along Pennsylvania Avenue, he east lawn of the
Capitol, with your sign to let your government know that you are angry with what is happening
to our country. Sorry I'm late in getting this into the newsletter, as reservations for a bus trip organized by We the People of Mid-Michigan closed on August 20th. However, you can always go yourself or organize your own group: that's what freedom is all about! Bring your flags, signs, friends, family and show your love of
country by letting your voice be heard in Washington D.C.! On Sunday, September 12, the day begins early, with some people intending to leave their Washington hotels at 8:00am. There is a nondenominational service at The Washington Monument at 10:00am. The march itself begins at 12:00noon at Freedom Plaza and heads down Pennsylvania Ave. to the Capitol. After the march, there will be rallies and speakers the remainder of the afternoon. Some of the scheduled speakers include Dick Armey, Former Majority Leader and FreedomWorks Chairman and Ryan Hecker, of Contract From America. This event has been organized by Freedom Works, Tea Party Patriots, National Taxpayers Union, The Institute for Liberty, Unite In Action, and a host of other great conservative
groups from around the country. Please check some of their websites for more details and alternate transportation. |
President's Cabinet Shows Lack of Experience
| Michael Cembalest, chief investment officer for JP Morgan Private Bank, recently did some eye-opening research you can see at Forbes Magazine. Among some other data on the recession, stimulus, and financial
meltdown of 2008-09, he researched the percentage of each president's
cabinet appointees who
had previously worked in the private sector. Starting with the creation of the Secretary of Commerce back in 1900, he
compiled the prior private-sector experience of all 432 cabinet members,
focusing on those positions one would expect to participate in the President's jobs summit discussion: Secretaries of State; Commerce; Treasury; Agriculture; Interior; Labor;
Transportation; Energy; and Housing & Urban Development.
What he found was that President Obama's Cabinet has the lowest level of private-sector experience of any 20th or 21st century president! This means that most of the people advising the President on how to create jobs have never held a job outside of government, and never owned a company that created jobs. Can we really expect them to know much about creating jobs? Here's his breakdown of the private-sector experience by president:
Theodore Roosevelt
- 38%
William Taft -
40%
Woodrow Wilson -
52%
Warren Harding -
49%
Calvin Coolidge -
48%
Herbert Hoover -
42%
Franklin Roosevelt -
50%
Harry Truman -

Dwight Eisenhower -
57%
John Kennedy
- 30%
Lyndon Johnson -
47%
Richard Nixon -
53%
Gerald Ford -
42%
Jimmy Carter
- 32%
Ronald Reagan -
56%
George HW Bush -
51%
Bill Clinton
- 39%
George W Bush -
