Dear Friends,
Looking for something a little different? You might want to try the Philosophy Club at the Saginaw YMCA. This group meets at 9:00am every Saturday to discuss current events. They present speakers and other information. To provide more engaging discussion, they are specifically asking for more conservatives to join in. If interested, please contact Mike Enright at 791-1415.

John Kupiec Enters The 5th District Congressional Race |
A businessman from Flint has entered the race to replace Dale Kildee. John is an owner of Subway Restaurants and Kupiec Farms. His business experience also extends to turning around a failing advertising agency and a child care

Preparation for Memorial Day
|
In memory of those who have given so much, on this Memorial Day please give a thought to all our Veterans: It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote. It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag, It is the VETERAN who serves under the Flag, God Bless them all! |
Michigan Senate Passes A Balance Budget
|
Last week in Lansing, the Republican-led Michigan Senate once again passed a balanced budget, without tax increases! They've proven it can be done and that government can control spending and live within its means. The budget was even passed weeks ahead of schedule, but they now must wait for the House of Representatives. This budget funds a smaller, more focused state government, capable of providing essential services in a more streamlined and efficient manner. The goal is to not just balance the budget, but to create a competitive business environment; and get Michigan moving forward again. The Senate Republicans conducted the entire budget process in the light of day: no after hours or weekend meetings behind closed doors. (unlike the Democrat-led fiascoes of recent years). Everything was publicly debated and votes were cast after all had been given the opportunity to participate. Moreover, all budgets, briefings and committee reports are available for review online. In short, they have nothing to hide and are prepared to stand behind their proposal.
