Ninth Republican Commission Candidate Files
|
Last Friday, April 2nd, John J. Milne filed as a candidate for Saginaw
County Commissioner for the 10th District. Mr. Milne is the ninth announced Republican candidate for the Commission on
the August 3rd primary ballot. He recently gained local and national attention as a spokesperson for GM small bondholders during the run-up to and aftermath of the General Motors
bankruptcy. He believes his experience with such complex financial issues will serve Saginaw City residents well on
the County Commission, as budget issues are expected to dominate
deliberations in 2011. Republican incumbents Ann Doyle,
Ron Sholtz and Pat Wurtzel, and Dennis
Krafft, along with Republican
challengers Jim Graham, Tim Kelly, Kirk Kilpatrick and Ben Ritter,
formally filed their campaigns with the county clerk on March 12th. Together, the nine Republican candidates expect to form the core of a new
conservative majority that will work diligently to shrink the cost,
size and scope of Saginaw County government at every level.
