Student Statesmanship Institute
|
The Student Statesmanship Institute (SSI) is a leadership training program established by the Foundation
for Traditional Values (FTV) to further the mission of affirming and
restoring America's Judeo-Christian heritage. SSI's week-long Summer Program is offered three times each year, iwith the next session on June 20. It is
designed to effectively equip students to analyze data, practice critical
thinking, develop team approaches to problem solving, utilize effective
communication skills and strategies, and deliver effective oral
presentations--all in the context of hands-on civics training. Early registration deadline is March 31, so if you have a student who would benefit, check SSI's website at http://www.ssi-online.org/.
One Saginaw student who benefited is Jonathan Williams. Jonathan attended SSI in the late 1990s as a high school student. Some of you may remember Jonathan attending our Party meetings. Since
then, he's completed his degree, worked for the Tax Foundation in Washington, DC, and now serves as the Director of Tax
and Fiscal Policy for the American Legislative Exchange Council. Last year, he co-authored the book, "Rich States, Poor States" with Wall Street Journal economist Art Laffer. |
