Dear Friends,

Here's something special we can all do for our community, regardless of our politics.  On Tuesday, January 12, Delta College will host a blood drive on campus.  The workers from Michigan Blood will be in the E-2 West hallway from 10:00am to 4:00 pm.  I've given a lot of blood donations over the years: it's easy and only takes about 20 minutes.  It's a great way to help someone; please give it a try.

Do You Believe In Limited Government?
Core Principles Logo
If you believe government is too big and intrusive, if you believe government taxes and regulates too much, then you might want to check out the Center Right Coalition.  They hold monthly meetings to discuss topics including bills before the legislature that need to be defeated because they grow government, or supported because they put limits on government.  They have speakers including local elected officials and activists.

You will also get a chance to listen to and ask questions of candidates for office who are running as limited-government conservatives and network with local and state organizations like The Mackinac Center, Americans for Prosperity, Education Action Group, MI-FairTax, and local Tea Party Organizations.

The Center Right Coalition will be meeting in two locations throughout 2010: on Thursdays in Lansing and Fridays in Farmington Hills, once per month. The next meetings are on January 21 in Lansing  at the Samuel Ingham Building, 116 W. Ottawa, downtown Lansing.  The meeting is from 9:30am to 11:00am.

They will also meet the next day, Friday January 22 in Farmington Hills at the Public Library, 32737 W. 12 Mile Road, from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.

You're welcome to bring any issues to the meeting you believe are appropriate. If you would like to make a presentation or have any questions, please contact Jack Hoogendyck at jack.core.principles@gmail.com.

Help the Democrats Leave Office...Fast!
Scott Brown

As you probably know, Democrats are leaving office lately, including our own  Lieutenant Governor John Cherry ending his bid for governor.  In recent weeks Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd and North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan have announced that they will not seek re-election.  And there was even a Congressman that changed parties from Democrat to Republican.

But, if that's not fast enough for you, here's your chance to kick another Democrat to the curb.  There is a special election in Massachusetts on January 19 to fill Senator Ted Kennedy's seat.  Republicans have an historic opportunity to win a seat that has been liberal for over 40 years.  According to the most recent poll, Republican Scott Brown is within striking distance!

A victory would eliminate the Democrat's super-majority in the senate, and maybe even STOP the government takeover of healthcare!

Help Harry Reid Leave Office...Fast!

Core Principles LogoRecently, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada pushed through the government-run healthcare bill in the Senate.  It was another disgusting vote in the dead-of-night, with many Senators not bothering to even read what they were voting on.

The folks at Tea Party Express are furious, and they've dedicated themselves to defeating Harry Reid in the upcoming 2010 Congressional election.  To do this, they are broadcasting ads on every Nevada TV station morning, noon and night.

If you would like to make a donation to their "Defeat Harry Reid" campaign, you can give any amount from as little as $5 to the maximum allowed $5,000.  You go to:
