Meet Anne Norlander

The monthly Saginaw County Republican Executive Commmittee meeting, on Wednesday, November 11, had Anne Norlander as a guest. Anne is a Republican candidate for Secretary of State in 2010, and spoke about the importance of delivering strict and ethical elections and protecting Michigan elections from groups like ACORN. Anne has already been endorsed by 83% of the County Clerks in Michigan. She is the only candidate in this race who has experience as an election administrator, with over 21 years of experience as both Clerk and Register of Deeds for Calhoun County. Anne is "...passionate about protecting our individual liberties such as private property rights, Second Amendment rights, and every individual's fundamental and Constitutional rights. These are among the principles for which the GOP stands and that's why I'm proud to be a Republican." She spoke of her achievements at Calhoun County, her beliefs, and the lack of experience of her challengers in both the Republican and Democrat parties. Health Care Update

Don Milne, Secretary of the Saginaw County Republican Party, sends this information on an event he recently attended: "I'd like to take just a moment to tell you about the "House Call" I made on Thursday, November 5, to Congressman Dale Kildee's and Senator Debbie Stabenow's offices in Flint. This was in connection with the national "House Call" that day, where nearly 20,000 people visited the Capitol building in Washington, DC to speak with their Representatives and Senators. I stood out front of the offices for about an hour with my homemade sign "Government, Get OUT of My Health Care." I greeted about a dozen folks who were coming and going to the offices to complain about the legislation. These were all quiet and polite folks, as were the few of us in protest. The most interesting point of the day was the contrast with the other dozen protesters in favor of the government takeover of healthcare. Those people were loud and rude, using bullhorns to harass traffic and insulting people going to the congressional offices. One stood in front of my sign with his sign, trying to prevent motorists from seeing me (unsuccessfully, I might add). Just a reminder of the type of people pushing the government solution: they are not interested in liberty and choice, but want to use force and intimidation to get others to pay for their desires."
Several local groups plan such events as the "House Call." You can find out about future events at www.meetup.com/TriCity912/, and clicking to their calendar.
