Much of that waste is unused medical supplies and equipment. At the same time, the World Health Organization estimates that more than 10 million children under the age of 5 die due to inadequate medical care.

When NorthBay Medical Center's Director of Supply Chain Managment, Pam Venturi and Purchasing Manager, Darrin Salswedel were faced with the enormous challenge of having to inventory, catalog, count, seal and reseal boxes of surplus medical supplies slated for donation, our OMG, LLC - "Team Northbay" delivered.
So far this year, OMG Couriers picked up or received medical products from various departments within the organization slated for donation and sorted more than 3,600 pounds of medical supplies.
"OMG Team NorthBay" took on the task, opening box after box of medical supplies, counting, cataloging and repacking the items.
Overall, Team NorthBay amassed six pallets of medical supplies with more than 500 various items. "OMG and NorthBay Medical Center were pleased to know they were helping to save the environment and redistributing medical supplies and equipment to those most in need" says Tony. The international aid organization "Globus Relief" has received NorthBay's donation and is redistributing those supplies to third world countries in need.
"This was a time-consuming, but fulfilling task" says OMG's Account Manager, Tony Jose. OMG Couriers Art Cardozo, Daniel Hansen, Don Schmitz, Karmen Thompson and Robert Carlisle worked between Stat calls, opening boxes of medical supplies, counting the various items, inventorying the contents, repacking and consolidating the boxes.
