Mail Center Security

To maintain a safe and secure Mail Center, mail center employees must be capable of dealing with all aspects of mail security.  The mail staff are the "Gatekeepers" of incoming mail and packages, they have access to confidential information concerning the company, and they are privy to the private information of other employees and customers such as credit card information and other financial and personal details.
Basic Mail Center Security Measures
  • Limit access of employees and visitors to the Mail Center
  • Be alert and report any attempts of unauthorized access to the Mail Center or building
  • Accept packages only for listed employees and only from authorized delivery personnel with proper identification
  • Report any package left unattended or out of place
Suspicious Mail or Package - Quick Reference
  • Do not open!!
  • Treat it as suspicious
  • Isoate it  - Do not handle
  • Contact building security - if available
  • Call police by dialing 911
  • Call Postal Inspectors at 877-876-2455 (if item was received in the mail)
Fewer than 170 Post Offices Remain Candidates for Consolidation
 Liberty Stamp
In a press release dated 12/14/09 the USPS announced that there are now fewer than 170 US offices that remain candidates for consolidation. This announcement  updated a review proces which began earler this summer that initially examined about 3,300 offices in urban and suburban areas across the country. The goal is to determine where consolidation would be feasible without compromising customer service.

As part of the consolidation process, the Postal Service has filed periodic updates to the Postal Regulatory Commissioin identifying the facilities that remain under consideration. At this point, no facility specific decisions have been made.

New Years Resolution
New Years Resolution!

At the beginning of every New Year it is customary for individuals to reflect on the previous year.  During this reflection, we pat ourselves on the back for our accomplishments, and "maybe" kick ourselves for leaving incomplete the items we couldn't quite tackle.

We at OMG follow a very specific methodology that calls for us to constantly review and update our Procedures and Policies.  This methodology covers all aspects of our partnerships; from Disaster Recovery to Service Level Agreements.  We ensure that the annual goals we set for ourselves and our clients are met and that the absolute best service is provided in each aspect of our partnership.

Why not start this New Year off by inquiring how OMG can assist you in attaining your goals, strengthening your mail security, and finding cost savings?
