Volunteering at the Orphanage
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Rev. Mike Newman, Mission and Ministry Facilitator for the Texas District of the LCMS, and his daughter Abby, recently traveled to Brazil in August. They had the opportunity to go to Holy Trinity Institute, the Orphanage in Moreira that BMS supports. Abby stayed on to volunteer to work with the children - and we can't wait to hear about her time there!
It is such a joy for the the children and Director of the Institute, Rev. Tealmo Percheron to have volunteers come to visit them in Moreira. It is so exciting for the children to get to meet the "real" people across the world who have been praying for them and who send them letters and financial help. They are told how God uses people from far away to help take care of them. They receive food, clothing, school supplies and gifts from people across the world - and every once in a while - they get to meet some of them - like Pastor Newman and Abby! God is so good!
We know that it is not possible for all of you to get to travel to Brazil. But what you do for these children and seniors is so important. Your prayers, your letters, your gifts, and your support are priceless! Another way you can help is by telling others - your friends, co-workers, and church family about this special place and the need for more sponsors.
