The following letter is from Rev. Tealmo Percheron - Executive Director at Holy Trinity Institute (the Orphanage in Moreira, Brazil that BMS supports) with good news about Eduardo!
It is lengthy, but tells a miraculous story of God's love.
"Dear Friends in Christ at Good Shepherd Lutheran School
(in Titusville, FL) ----
Eduardo came to live with us in here in March 2001. He was only 9 at the time. He is 19 years old now! A lot has happened in this boy's life and we want to share with you the great news!
But, let me explain from the beginning. As you know, many children of the home get more than 1 sponsor due to the high costs of Education here in Brazil. Eduardo also has also another Godparent from the USA, who always kept in touch with Eduardo just like you do. As Eduardo got older, this Godfather started to get more interested in his education and it was with a huge surprise that we received an email from him this January in which he offered a position for Eduardo in one of his companies here in Brazil!! Wow! What a blessing!
The Godparent is actually owner of a multi-national company called INCOE INTERNATIONAL and has plants in North America, South America, Europe, China and Hong-Kong. The manager who runs the plant here in Brazil (São Paulo) came to visit and meet with Eduardo. There was a lot to talk about but mainly he wanted to meet Eduardo in person; see if this would be something he would really like to do and if his family was ok with him moving to São Paulo.
What an opportunity! Eduardo talked with his family and got his high school diploma. We advised him to go to São Paulo during his vacation for an experience period. He did and everything went really well (February/early March). That was when Eduardo decided to take the job!
He returned to our home for a couple of days for getting everything solved with his paperwork and he moved to São Paulo in the middle of March. Right now, he is currently living with this manager called Michael who became his tutor. He is attending a technical school near his new house and working in the company in the office.
He is really happy and doing really well. He is working hard on his studies and is aiming to pass in every subject. He enjoys his free time with Michael and his family and is getting along pretty well with them!
He never imagined an opportunity like this would show up for him and he is truly thankful to God for making things happen for him, and so are we. He is also very, very thankful for everything that you have done for him during all these years and wants you to know that he will never forget your generosity and care for him. He knows how you cared for him and he will always cherish you. We keep in touch with him frequently and he said he would try to write you when he can to thank you for everything.
Well, now that he is gone, we know we will miss him here, but we are also very, very happy for him. Once again, God´s and our home´s goal and mission were achieved - to prepare these children so that they can walk on their own. Another life was changed!!!
And we couldn´t have done it without you.
For all what you have done for him during these years, since you met him in 2001, we are truthfully thankful. Eduardo will never forget all the years of loving letters and concerns. We truly thank you for the interest on this program for all these years and we hope this has been such an amazing experience as it was for Eduardo.
We have still many children who need attention and support, and we know that any of them would be very blessed to have you as Godparent. If you would like to continue to help our home and children through the sponsorship Program, we will be happy to help you.
We want to thank you, once again, for all what you have been doing for our home and for Eduardo.
