Dear Mission Supporter,

The Noticia (Good News) for this month highlights a very unique ministry of the Lutheran Church that receives support through the Brazil Mission Society - The Deaf Ministry for the Lutheran Church of Brazil.

Pastor Klaus Kuchenbecker is the pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Porto Alegre, a Congregation for the Deaf and also serves as the Coordinator of the Deaf Ministry for the Lutheran Church of Brazil.

Pastor Klaus Serves Holy Communion to the Deaf

He recently shared the following "Good News" about his ministry in Brazil with the BMS. "The photo below shows a particular Bible Study in which the Deaf spent time sharing how they are to answer God's calling to be an example of God's love in their professional lives, as singles, in their marriages, and the importance of belonging to a church."

"I am so very happy.  The Deaf Bible Study worked very well last year.  We had a little group that came every Thursday to the church to study the Bible. And I hope they will now come more frequently to services."

"I wish to thank the Brazil Mission Society for the money you sent for the mission work here to the Deaf.  It will be used to invest in DVD materials that I am working on for the Mission."  (Donation was given to the BMS by the Pella Ladies Aid and other Members of Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun, Wisconsin)

Retreat - "Sanctification-My Answer for God's Love!"

Pastor  Klaus recently led a Retreat for the Deaf near Porto Alegre.  "The theme for the retreat was 'Sanctification - My Answer for God's Love.' The purpose was to offer to the Deaf, an opportunity to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and to grow in their relationship with each other, as well as time for fun, for sport and free time.  We also shared the Celebration of Holy Communion."

Please take a few moments to remember Pastor Klaus Kuchenbecker, his wife Liege and their Ministry to the Deaf in Brazil in your prayers.  And as always, we ask for you to keep the Brazil Mission Society in your prayers so God's work in His Kingdom can continue!

Bencaos de Deus, (Blessings of God)
