Dear Mission Supporter,

This month we thought we would share an amazing story with you of how a 5-year old boy made a huge difference in the lives of children thousands of miles away!

This past November, the Brazil Mission Society sent out a Thanksgiving Brochure filled with stories of the Holy Trinity Institute Orphanage in Moreira, Brazil.  It listed many needs of the Orphanage and asked for financial help for this wonderful home.

When  5-year old  Jack read in the newsletter that the Orphanage needed $1500 a month to buy feed for their animals, he told his parents, "We have to help these  children!"

Jack asked his best friend, Anastasia to help him organize and co-host an event to raise money to help the children.

To raise the money, Anastasia and Jack decided to do what they love most - drawing and baking!  They drew pictures, baked muffins, and made crafts for the sale.  They used photos to create  posters about the Orphanage to display at the event.

On December 5th Jack and Anastasia held a Charity Art and Bake Sale that raised over $1100.00 for the Orphanage! Close friends and family members braved snowy roads to attend the event at their home.  Everyone who made a good-will donation left with a yummy baked good and a fabulous piece of  art.

Several families who were unable to attend and a local church aerobic group also graciously donated money.  Despite the difficult economic circumstances in Detroit  people still gave generously and Jack and Anastasia's prayers were answered.

When Jack's father asked him how he felt at the end of the sale, Jack said, "I am super-duper-duper happy!"  Then when these precious children saw  photos of all of the animal feed the Orphanage was able to buy with the money they raised, they couldn't stop smiling for how God provided.

Because of the generous donations, the Orphanage was able to buy the feed and now the  storage room that was once empty is now full!  Praise the Lord, for He  knew their needs and He provided through the amazing heart of these small children, thousands of miles away!
