Dear Mission Supporter,

This Noticia includes a glimpse into the life of a Vicar serving in Brazil.  He is just one of  the  many  Vicars  that  the Brazil Mission Society helps.  The story of  his challenges represents the stories of many other missionaries working  in Brazil.  We thank you for your prayers and support for this Vicar and the many others like him working to share the love of  Christ in  Brazil.

"Go to the people of all nations and make them My disciples.  Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you.  I will be with you always, even until the end of the world."

Matthew 28:18-20

"I thank you very much for the prayers and help you have already sent to us.  We wish you the Lord's richest blessings to all of you."

The Story of the Motorcycle Vicar!

"My name is Elvio Nei Figur.  I am a Lutheran Vicar at Paroquia Concordia de Querencia do Norte, PR, Brazil.  My instructor Pastor is Rev. Jorge Keibler.   There are 26 mission stations that we serve here, located in six different counties:  Santa Monica, 85km (52mi); Santa Terezinha, 20km (12mi); Porangaba I, 25km (15mi); Porangaba II, 30km (52mi); Pontal of the Tiger, 25km (15mi); and Pontal do Tigre, 35km (21mi).  We also hold Bible Classes in the city of Marilena, 100km (82mi)."

"We each travel about 300km (186mi) per week. Our vehicles are two very used motorcycles, and because of the bad conditions of our roads, they break every two or three trips!"

"The main mission work here is done among people that are gathered by a movement called MST "Movemento dos Sem Terra" (Movement of the Agricultural Workers Without Land.)  These people don't have houses and they live in tents made of black canvas.  The majority of the people live below the line of poverty.  We go to these places and invite everyone for Bible Classes.  We gather them under trees, garages and in some places we have already built Chapels and Churches.  We sing.  We study the Bible.  We instruct these people.  The work is very difficult here, mainly because of the situation where these people live, in these encampments."
Sharing the Love of Christ

"We hold Bible Classes in the city of Marilena, 100km (62mi) away.  In this place we have a Lutheran teacher that helps us with worship and Bible Classes.  We have many challenges here in Querencia do Norte.  But the doors for this mission work are wide open."

As you can tell, Vicar Figur and Pastor Keiber are doing great things - even from the back of a motorcycle!  But they  really need help to continue this mission work among the People Without Land that live here.   Can you help?  Share this story!  Forward the email!  Tell others about the awesome ways God is using His people to reach people in Brazil!
