"Go to the people of all nations and make them My disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world."
Matthew 28:18-20

"I thank you for being a partner with the mission in Brazil. When God says "Go" it doesn't always mean to put our feet in other lands. "Go" means much more. "Go" means to have a hand in God's mission through prayers, motivation, and support. "Go" means contributing to proclaim the Love of Christ in any way you can."
" Beloved partner, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget your kindness and support. Keep your heart in action. Now, I get a go - God's mission calls me! Let's Go!"

Mission Work in Paragominas, Brazil |
This is Alianca Lutheran Church in Paragominas, Brazil. The doors opened in June, 2006. The Pastor of this mission church is 30-year-old Iromar Schrieber. He explains, "Alianca means 'Covenant' - God's promise of Salvation to His people. In Portuguese, it also means 'to put strength together' or 'unite strength.' God put together His strength with the strength of our congregation, Martinho Lutero, the Builders for Christ, BMS (Brazil Mission Society, IELB (Igreja Evangelica Luterana do Brasil) and LSLB (Lutheran Ladies Organization).
By faith in Jesus we can do everything. We can build temples and especially build persons in Christ. He is the foundation. We recently added the sign with our name and service times, thanks to donations from the Brazil Mission Society."

Go! Pray! Give! Tell! Send! Celebrate! |
"We want to create opportunities to connect with people in their daily lives and touch in some way an entire community, leading them to Christ," says Pastor Schrieber. Their goal is to acquire 100 T-Shirts with the "Ablaze!" Logo and use them as they visit people in the villages, doing 'Mission work!' They have trained groups to sing songs on the streets, in homes, and hospitals while wearing the T-Shirts. They set up tents in the Praca (leisure square) in front of the Pastor's house with materials, gifts, singing and fun activities for the children. (Sounds like VBS!) They plan on having Traffic Blitzes - holding banners while wearing the T-Shirts, as they distribute missionary materials and gifts to "Set hearts Ablaze with the love of Christ!' |

Sharing the Love of Christ |
Pastor Schrieber and the people of Martinho Lutero Church recently travelled to Andiroba, a village 130km away from Paragominas.
Two hundred people live there. "We were challenged to go there to proclaim God's Word, and set hearts ablaze with the Love of Christ for the people in that place. We went and invited the people to worship with us at a 10:00a.m. service. Seventy-four people came! It was the first time they had attended a Lutheran service. The response was wonderful and they asked us to return!
When we returned home, we celebrated with a Barbeque (churrasco), thanking God for this great opportunity."
