Tax Credit Supports NATIVE HEALTH

Did you know that your State tax dollars can help NATIVE HEALTH provide services?  Your $400.00 donation can make a huge difference to our patients.  You can reduce your tax liability while helping those who need it most.  Thanks to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Program for the Working Poor, Arizona State taxpayers now have more incentive to make a cash donation to NATIVE HEALTH.

In 1988, Arizona began the welfare tax credit (ARS 43-1088) for eligible taxpayers that financially support a qualifying organization that provides assistance for Arizona's working poor population.  Contributions up to $400.00 may earn a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on Arizona income tax.  This means your total tax bill can be reduced by this amount.  In addition, your gift to NATIVE HEALTH also qualifies as a charitable deduction on your federal return if you itemize your deductions.  The credit cannot exceed $200.00 for an individual or $400.00 for a married couple in any tax year.  Please check with your tax advisor for further details.

By giving to NATIVE HEALTH, your donation stays in Arizona and our community and helps those who really need your assistance.  Your gift makes a significant impact for the urban Native American community.  Your contribution will provide additional services for those who cannot afford them.  Please consider giving today.  If you would like more information on this program please contact Craig Pattee at (602) 279-5262 or email cpattee@nachci.com

Diabetes Education Services

The Diabetes Education Program at NATIVE HEALTH assists patients who develop gestational diabetes.  Gestational diabetes is defined as diabetes that develops or is discovered during pregnancy.  If uncontrolled, thisGestational Diabetes Program can cause an increased rate of cesarean delivery, and health risks to the mother and baby.  It often presents without symptoms and is diagnosed through routine screening during pregnancy.  Women with gestational diabetes carry a risk for Type 2 Diabetes-  nearly 60% go on to develop Type 2 Diabetes within five years after the diagnosis of gestational diabetes.  If the sugars become too high during the pregnancy, insulin is the treatment of choice to control the blood sugars.  Women with gestational diabetes should be screened for diabetes six weeks after the baby is born and periodically therafter.
