A

Shiny, Used Gadget?
Refurbished Equipment Can Save
Your Business Money.

Finding additional ways to cut costs while optimizing your business operations can be a challenge. If your company needs computer equipment, one consideration for improving your bottom line is to buy used and refurbished.

Often only new computer equipment is considered when upgrading computer systems.  This can be a good choice given the limited lifespan of technology equipment.  However, a good option might also be refurbished equipment.  Refurbished equipment can save you an estimated 20-40% in comparison to the cost of new equipment.  With these savings, the question arises, is the refurbished equipment good enough to handle my needs?

It has been our experience that refurbished equipment is only as good as the company providing the refurbished products.  This is because the original specifications need to be met during the refurbication process, and the warranty provided should be backed by a company that can deliver on its promise.  Therefore, it is important when considering refurbished equipment to choose a solid vendor.   What better company to deliver this than the original manufacturer.

A program Infinity Technology trusts is HP Renew. Through this program, we are able to offer HP brand refurbished equipment to the client.  Eighty percent of refurbished products are less than one year old and go through the same rigorous testing that the new products do.  Most of the products come from returned demonstration/loaner equipment or factory excess.  The warranties are still valid and the products can still receive extended support agreements, much the same as new equipment.

To answer the original question, is refurbished equipment good enough to handle my needs?  As long as the proper support agreements are in place and the desire is there to save dollars, it can be a good alternative to new products when purchased from a quality vendor.

If Getting Email Anytime, Anywhere, ON Any Device WITHOUT Any Downtime is Critical To Your Business, Read on...

Is e-mail communication the lifeline of your business? Would your productivity grind to a halt if your e-mail was cut off for any time at all? Are you tired of new hardware and software expenses and the endless maintenance needed just to keep everything up to date? If so, I've got some great news for you.

computerpng Cloud Based E-mail (aka "Hosted Exchange") is often a much easier way of eliminating e-mail downtime, slow performance and annoying spam messages. Here's how it works: Instead of purchasing and maintaining your e-mail in-house, which can be costly and time consuming, your e-mail server is hosted (and maintained) in a high-performance, high-security hosting company "in the cloud" where you can access it securely from any device or PC.

Best of all, you don't have to make any changes in HOW you access your e-mail - your messages will simply be delivered to your inbox, phone or other device faster and with fewer issues, and it will always be synchronized and up-to-date!

Here are just a few of the advantages of cloud-based e-mail:

  • Synchronized access to your e-mail and calendar from anywhere. You don't have to remote into your office PC; now you can securely access your e-mail from any device or PC.
  •  No more software, hardware or maintenance costs. YOU don't have to purchase the hardware and software, nor do you have to maintain the system. This is all included in a very low monthly fee.
  • High speed, "always on" e-mail. The hosted Exchange platforms we provide to our clients are high-performance systems with multiple "fail over" backup servers, maintained and monitored like Fort Knox, which is a level of service you wouldn't typically need for your small business. However, since you are hosting on this platform, cloud-based e-mail gives you all the benefits of a high-performance system without the costs. Your in-house network could go down and you'd STILL have access to your e-mail, contacts and calendar.
  • Automatic backups and archiving. What would you do if your in-house e-mail server failed and erased your messages? Or what if a disgruntled employee deleted all their e-mails? If you were hosting your Exchange, these would be non-issues since your e-mails are backed up daily and secured.

September's Employee Pet of the Month

 CurtDog

Name:  Mowgli (from The Jungle Book)
Age:      15-months
Breed:  Labradoodle
Thoughts: Guardians had to go back and get the "ginormous" kennel because of my long legs and big head. Favorite thing to do is to grab a sock, shoe, flip flop, stuffed animal... and get chased through the house! I am the first thing the kids want in to see on the morning and the last thing to see at night. There is nothing like being a 70lb puppy... Good night!

Guardian: Curt, Director, Internet Services
