Lucky as a Leprechaun!
Leprechaun

Saint Patrick's Day is Wednesday, and lucky for you, there are loads of reading and math activities in the Seasonal File Cabinet. Start with a Read N Roll activity and the Word Challenge during literacy. Leprechaun Luck (probability) and the St. Pat's Day Puzzlers will jazz up your math class.

Lucky as a Leprechaun
Finally, use the Lucky as a Leprechaun teambuilder to reflect on ways we are lucky. Begin this activity by reading the statement at the top of the page and asking your class to brainstorm reasons they feel lucky. Have each student write his or her name in the cloud and write one reason they feel lucky in each coin. After they color the page, ask them to take turns sharing what they wrote with their team.

Plural Noun Showdown

Cooperative Learning Review

No matter the age, it seems that almost all students have difficulty forming plural nouns. I have created Plural Noun Showdown as a fun way to practice this skill. Each student needs a dry erase board or small chalkboard. Task cards are stacked in the center of the team and students alternately write the nouns and show them to their team to check answers. I'm currently working on a Mini Pack with full directions and answer keys. At the time you read this, it may already be posted online. If not, check back later today. One set of Plural Noun Task Cards are available as a free download in the Language Arts File Cabinet.
Leprechaun Luck Game
Leprechaun Luck Probability Game

Math Fun with Lucky Charms

Leprechaun Luck is a fun partner game based on the "Seed of Chance" activity in Math Stations for Middle Grades. Instead of seeds, the players (leprechauns) use Lucky Charms cereal for game pieces. Mastering the game involves strategy, knowledge of probability, and a bit of luck! You can find it in the Seasonal File Cabinet.

Mastering Math Facts
It was recently brought to my attention that some of the Answer Keys in Mastering Math Facts contained errors. In the process of trying to find those errors, I discovered that for a short time I was selling a version on Teachers Pay Teachers that didn't have any answers at all! I've corrected the errors and uploaded the Answer Keys to the sidebar on the Mastering Math Facts page. Scroll to the bottom and you'll find them there. I've also made sure that the version being sold on TpT is the most current version with Answer Keys. Sorry for this inconvenience!
