Milton ChenFriday, April 27 8:45am-9:45am  Dr. Milton Chen is senior fellow and executive director, emeritus at The George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF), a non-profit operating foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area that utilizes its multimedia website Edutopia.org and documentary films to communicate a new vision for 21st Century schools. He served as executive director of GLEF for 12 years. During his tenure, GLEF and its media brand, Edutopia, greatly expanded their editorial publishing efforts, including the award-winning Edutopia magazine. Edutopia.org is known as a destination Web site for educators and others interested in educational innovation and has won numerous honors, including the 2009 Webby People's Voice Award for best education website. Michelle CummingsThursday, April 26 8:45am  Michelle is a dynamic keynote speaker and a highly-regarded consultant in the areas of leadership, teambuilding, and experiential learning. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kansas State University and a Master's degree in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University at Mankato. Michelle is currently partnering with Stephen M.R. Covey and his partners at CoveyLink to develop experiential initiatives for Mr. Covey's most recent book, The Speed of Trust. Join us for an in-depth learning experience to rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit as well as build capacity by inspiring you to become an agent for change. The Pre-Conference Academy sessions are full-day events and include lunch and workshop materials. IMPACT TEACHING: Building Teams that Work-$115 This workshop will cover a wide range of helpful activities, from icebreakers, getting-to-know you activities, to activities that make an impact. Finding activities that engage students and staff can create a lasting impact. Leave with an arsenal of activities on how teams communicate, make decisions, recognize conflicts and solves problems---all in an atmosphere that is non-threatening and FUN! Come prepared to participate and play. SEEING BEYOND THE IMAGE: How Photography Breaks Down Cultural Assumptions & Inspires Change- $170 Join us fo  r an exciting day at the AjA Project's interactive, hand-on Training of Trainers (TOT) developed for 6-12th grade educators and after-school providers who are interested in either implementing a visual-arts workshop on the topic of identity and cultural literacy, or integrating AjA's tools into their existing curricula.

Did you know that you can earn 9 upper-division college credits by attending the BOOST Conference and completing up follow-up work? The BOOST Conference is being offered as a 9-unit course through UC Irvine Extension. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for all units of the UCI Extension Course, After School Curriculum and Program Development: Keys to Success.If you are interested in participating in this opportunity you will need to attend the mandatory Orientation on Thursday, April 26 from 7:45am-8:15am in Mesquite H, located in the Palm Springs Convention Center.
