Join us for an informative learning symposium
specifically designed to highlight promising practices in middle and
high school out-of-school time programs. Learn how middle school
programs, Granger Jr. High School and National City Middle School, have
continued to increase test scores, pulling out of Program Improvement
status, and serve hundreds of students daily.
Find
out about Hoover High School's Synergy after school model that supports
the City Heights area of San Diego which continues to draw immigrants
from East Africa, Southeast Asia, Mexico, Latin America, the Middle
East, and the Balkan States. Synergy's priority is to focus on the
diverse needs of students at Hoover High- culturally, linguistically,
and academically- by providing quality tutoring after school. The
Synergy Program at Hoover High School is honored to be the HIgh School
Demonstration site for the California Dpartment of Education.
All
3 of the featured after school programs have been very successful in
meeting and exceeded their attendance goals; creating a strong
alignment with the core day; developing and sustaining quality
partnerships; and securing additional sources of funding to enhance
sustainable out-of-school time programming.
