thanks to the efforts of Kim Miles and Dot Butler!!!!!!! Over 600 were in attendance on April 5th at the Burlington Marriott. Eight amazing designers created dresses based on today's headlines. The winning dress, (pictured above) casino-inspired and made out of playing cards, was designed by Mary Grassi and modelled by Kathy Fallon. Dresses are now showcased in many of the shops downtown - the event was beyond description and plans are already in motion for April 2013!!!!!!!We encourage anyone interested in purchasing photos from WHW Project Runway event to visit click on "Event Ordering" Password: chamber ____________________________

President's Message
Spring has sprung and this is the perfect time to take a close look at your business. I don't mean the financial statement (I'm sure you did that preparing taxes) but HOW YOU & YOUR WORKPLACE LOOK! With all the trees and flowers bursting into color it's time to spruce up your daily appearance at work as well as your workplace environment. The age old motto, "dress for success", means you and your business surroundings ought to be fresh, updated, and pleasing to your customers. Otherwise, they may interpret that your business is not thriving and may lose confidence in your ability to serve their needs! So wash those windows, touch up the paint, get a new doormat, add some flowers or artwork, and if that carpet is too expensive to replace you might buy a colorful area rug to perk it up. Most of all get rid of any clutter. Use a filing cabinet or boxes to store old records out of sight. Listen to your voice mail message and update if needed. Finally, go shopping (preferable locally) and pick up a couple of new shirts, pants, scarves, shoes, jewelry, etc. to freshen up your wardrobe. We have a number of retailers, personal shoppers , organizers, and interior decorators in the Chamber who can help you with these tasks - just call the Chamber office for referrals or go on our website to search for local businesses. A small investment will invigorate you, your staff, and your customers!

Executive Director's message
Let's talk about the Farmer's Market, Friday May 4th at 8:15 am at the Chamber office. Fred Yen will be here to listen to your comments and how we can partner with the market to make it a win-win for everyone.
Thanks to Richard Howard for taking the time to address the annual meeting for the Winchester Chamber. It is most encouraging to listen to the town manager who is very in tune with the business community and who is there to offer his services whenever possible. He has made an incredible effort to attend many of the meetings, functions and events here in Winchester so that he now understands the difference between Enka and Winton and is more than a figure head sitting in Town Hall. We are most fortunate to have such a bright, caring person as our new manager who will be there as a person who has a real understanding of what the business community needs and how to help improve business for all.
Cathy Alexander
Executive Director, Winchester Chamber of Commerce

WINCAM ON DEMAND
Starting on April 27th, WinCAM viewers will be able to watch local programming on-demand, 24 hours a day on wincam.org If you missed the most recent Winchester Board of Selectmen Meeting or that WHS lacrosse game - now you can tune in anywhere, anytime. The easy-to navigate on-demand player is embedded right in the home page. You can even watch on your tablet or smart phone! Simply log on to wincam.org and select the file you want to view. Also built into the player is a scrolling banner space which will allow local establishments to promote their business while supporting WinCAM's efforts. Through a small, monetary or in-kind donation to WinCAM, local businesses will be acknowledged in a dedicated space within the player - but never over the video. This is a great way to promote your business to potential local customers. WinCAM is proud to offer this exciting new service. It's just another reason why WinCAM is Winchester's source for local, member-based media. And don't forget: a lot of what you'll see on WinCAM channels is produced by volunteer, resident producers - and you can do it too. For more information on membership opportunities, underwriting opportunities or other WinCAM programs or services, call at 781-721-2050 or stop at 80 Skillings Road, in the back of Winchester High School _____________________________________________
