President's Message
Hi Chamber folks,
Just when one of the major goals of my Board Presidency was about to be realized, I stumbled in the store office and ran my head into the door! Talk about a wake-up call! Needless to say, that happened at 6:15 pm just as I was preparing to attend the all new Chamber Connection - Business Expo on February 7th at the Griffin Museum. That goal was to expand the scope of Chamber events & activities. Our on-going programs over many years including the Citizen of the Year Dinner, Town Day Bar B-Q, Town Yard Sale, Gift Certificates, Annual Meeting, breakfast and luncheon gatherings, and Business After Hours have been very successful. Then the formation of the WOMEN HELPING WOMEN Initiative created by Kim Miles and Dot Butler with outstanding programs in recent years has surpassed our wildest expectations!
However, with the substantial growth in Chamber Businesses this past couple years motivated in part by the publication of our new Directory and Janet's recruiting, I believed we still were not providing focused opportunities for the many members with Internet & Home-based business as well as those located outside our vibrant Winchester Center. Enter, our long time Executive Director, Cathy Alexander, who created this wonderful new Business Expo! All reports indicated a resounding success for participants and attendees. THANK YOU folks for making my job so rewarding! I hope to see you at next year's Expo!
Judy Manzo - President
Winchester Chamber Board of Directors

Executive Director's message
On February 7, we held our first Chamber Connection/Business Expo at the Griffin Museum. In planning the event, my purpose was to provide an opportunity for chamber members without a storefront to showcase their talent, wares and products. I purposely selected a location that I felt would be inviting and convenient to the vendors and to the public. I also wanted to have an added attraction so to speak and was thrilled when Linda Sloane, a VP of Century Bank agreed to speak at the forum. To my delight, the event was more than successful and participants agreed the only concern was that the venue was too small! We asked for feedback and here is a direct quote from members Allen Plumbing - "We were so impressed with the Expo, both in the coordination and turn out. We thought it a successful venue for networking: both learning of others' businesses while drumming up interest in ours. We'd most certainly participate in similar future events. Hats off to you all!"
Thanks so much to all of you for your interest and support of the first of our annual chamber connections/expo!
