Spring Conditions
Red River has been blessed with plenty of great snow this season. In fact, word on the street is that both ski areas are in the best condition they've been in in years. Even those narrow, steep, nearly hidden trails are open for daredevil skiers and snowboarders looking to get off the "beaten path."  Beach WeeksEach day we look up at the gorgeous, uncrowded trails and think about how lucky we are to live in such a great place. In the spring the sun comes out, windows are rolled down, and you can actually get away with shorts every once in a while. Folks congregate on the deck at the Lift House between runs, and you can hear the sounds of Bob Marley and other island-themed music resonating through the valley until the sun starts to dip behind the mountain. The days are longer, the snow is softer, and the people are happier.
Beach Weeks
March 10 - 25, 2012
It's not often that everyone is ready to move from winter activities to
Red River Ski Area - St. Patrick's Day Penguin Plunge
Red River Ski Area - St. Patrick's Day Penguin Plunge
summer activities at the same time, so Red River has come up with the perfect transition period to get you from one season to the other... BEACH WEEKS! If you're ready for the beach but not ready to put your skis and snowboard away then Beach Weeks are for you. Tank tops, bathing suits, and coconut oil are spotted frequently around town, and live music & fun activities are abundant. Check out the video of the Penguin Plunge above and get the full list of Beach Weeks activities here.

Dog Days
Ma
rch 23-25, 2012
Beach Weeks aren't the only thing going on this spring break.
Dog Days at the EFXCIf you're into traveling with your four-legged friends make sure you hit the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Area for Dog Days. The EFXC expands their usual 5k of dog-friendly trails to all 30k of trails so you and your pooch can roam New Mexico's largest full service XC and snowshoe area together! Need a place to stay? Check out one of Red River's fourteen pet-friendly lodges at RedRiver.org/lodging.

But Wait, There's More!
Maybe snow sports just aren't your thing. Lucky for you there's also great shopping, dining, fishing, and more in the spring.  Whether you're using your trusty 'ol pole or your new fly rod, Red River has an abundance of great fishing holes that are starting to pop. Head out on your own or with one of our trusty guides found at RedRiver.org.
