Red River Ski Area
Opens On Schedule
The Red River Ski Area has opened the day before Thanksgiving for nearly forty
years, and today was no different.
Winter sports enthusiasts lined up to catch first chair this morning,
eager with anticipation about the amount of terrain open this early in the
season. "Today is really exciting
because we've been able to open up to Broadway Station and open both catwalks
between the Red and Gold chair lifts, neither of which has been possible in
about five years," says Lauren Judycki House, Public Relations Manager for the
Red River Ski Area. "Our snowmaking
capabilities have proven to be invaluable year after year, which is critical to us being able to open on time each Thanksgiving ."
Lift tickets for the weekend are $35 for adults, $30
for teens, $26 for juniors (12 and under) and seniors (65 - 69), and free
for 70 and older. The ski area will be
open weekends only until December 12, and then will be open daily until March
29th. The Enchanted
Forest Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe Area will be
opening soon, weather permitting. |
