La BohèmeOpera in the Heights' final production of its 2009-2010 season will be Giacomo Puccini's beloved La Bohème, perhaps the world's most popular opera. La Bohème portrays the lives and loves of four young starving artists struggling to pay the rent. In fact it was the inspiration for the popular Broadway musical "Rent". I have been listening to the rehearsals for this opera and can tell you that this is outstanding casting. Each of our singers is an accomplished young "starving" artist, who perfectly fits the character. This is such a popular opera that we have eight performances instead of six (March 26, 27, April 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10). The March shows are almost sold out. Best availability is for the added performance on April 10. Plan to come to this wonderful opera.
