| Letter from the CEO | Greetings All, Lately some newsworthy items have been grabbing my attention - leaders being exposed for unethical personal behaviors. From Dominique Strauss-Kahn to Prince Andrew to the Terminator himself, we're seeing bad press do a number on the credibility of some prominent public figures. When you look at your own leadership, what makes YOU vulnerable to public scandal? Is your personal record clean? This issue of Momentum is an invitation to look in the mirror and ask yourself - how are you living your own values? Is there anything that concerns you about your reputation? Enjoy! Karlin Sloan Chief Executive Officer Karlin Sloan & Companybe the change.

| Inspiration: Quotes of the Month |
"It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership." - Nelson Mandela "A reputation once broken may possibly be repaired, but the world will always keep their eyes on the spot where the crack was." - Joseph Hall

Reputational Capital: How Important is It?
| |
How important is your professional reputation to you? Have you thought about it lately? Here are three things to do to improve your personal leadership reputation:
- Give credit where credit is due. Those leaders who take credit for the work of others pay for it in the end. And those who reward their team enhance their own reputation. Your job is to make other people look good - and that reflects on you.
- Keep your online profiles updated, and any comments about you should be positive, or should be addressed immediately - personally. If someone has an issue with you and posts that issue online, don't just post back, contact them directly when possible and try to sort it out.
- Ask for feedback. When you seek out input, it makes others feel valued, and you might even learn something.
