Renew Boston Community Marketing & Outreach RFP
& Other Resources
Dear Friends,

We wanted to make sure you were aware of the release of the Renew Boston RFP for Community Marketing and Outreach as well as other resources.

1) RFP: Renew Boston Community Marketing & Outreach of Weatherization & Energy Efficiency Services in Boston

This RFP will select vendors (CBOs) to reach out to Boston neighborhoods to market the Renew Boston Residential Energy Efficiency program.  The goal of this program is to ensure that City-supported energy efficiency programs are accessed by communities that have traditionally not been served by ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs.  Selected CBOs will support Renew Boston contractee Mass Energy's work to determine whether Boston residents qualify for energy efficiency programs.
  • Proposals are due September 10, 2010 by 4:00pm.
  • Lead agent: City of Boston's Office of Environmental and Energy Services
  • Multiple contracts will be awarded from $5,000 to $15,000.
  • Pre-proposal conference: August 23, 2010 from 3:00-5:00pm at Boston City Hall
  • In September, the City of Boston will also issue an RFQ looking for CBOs to host one of the Renew Boston Neighborhood Network Coordinators.

5) Special Green Power Edition of the CommonWealth Magazine
A special issue of CommonWealth magazine about green power in Massachusetts was released in July by MassINC.  Of particular note is Michael Jonas' article, "Seeing Green,"  which does an excellent job of painting the whole picture of the state's potential green employment growth by focusing on both the larger macro economic development drivers and real time assessments of the number of jobs that will be available to low skilled workers.
